Katie and Bridget (she's back!) run up a flight of stairs fueled by only Pepsi and Twinkies as they re-watch: 28 Days Later! It's a movie all about how if the world erupts into a zombie apocalypse because of a PETA-esq heist (guys this could actually happen, so listen up!), then we all need to find our people and stay away from creepy military wanna-bees! Help! Come along as we meet Jim, a man who wakes up alone in a hospital and discovers that zombies (that we never call zombies but are definitely zombies) have taken over London and now it's a fight to survive. When he meets up with Selena, a bad ass who will kill you if you start to rage, they set out to meet more people and try to find a sanctuary. This movie asks the deep questions, such as: Is it better to die by your own choice or risk becoming a rage zombie? Should we all invest in Twinkies and crank radios now - just in case? Would the zombies have all been cured if we only got them high off weed!? All these and more in this low budget, surprisingly fun zombie movie. Released in 2002, it stars Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Christopher Eccleston, Brendan Gleeson, and Megan Burns.

Katie and special guest Christine (!) do a synchronized song and dance as they re-watch the Disney Channel Original Movie: High School Musical! It's the movie that launched Zac Efron's career and made us all question our high school identities and whether or not we should ALSO audition for the musical! Come along as we meet Troy, a basketball star who meets Gabriella, a science nerd, while being bullied into singing karaoke together. When the two start to attend the same school things go awry once they audition for the musical, sending the entire school into panic mode and wide-spread identity crises. But don't worry, we're singing and dancing all throughout the trauma! So much so that basically every song (except Gabriella's solo song) is considered the best song of the movie! We've got high school cliches, iconic characters (Sharpay - DUH!), and great music all wrapped up into this smash hit of a made for TV movie that launched into a full on franchise. Released in 2006, it stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Bart Johnson, and
    Alyson Reed.

  • The Village

Katie and special guest Julie(!) run blindly through the woods as they re-watch the suspenseful early 2000's movie: The Village! It's a movie all about how if you are fed up with the woes of society, you can just start your own cult in the woods and abandon all modern luxuries - while also simultaneously fear-mongering your children - all while allowing disease and death to kill everyone because you refuse to go get medicine! ......Yeah this feels a little too topical for this day and age! SOMEBODY HELP! Come along as we meet Ivy, a blind woman who decides to go into the woods to get medicine for her newly shanked fiancé, Lucius. When we're led to believe that the evil creatures who spread fear throughout the town also live in the woods and Ivy probably won't make it, her dad gives her (and us the audience) the real talk about the creatures and the town in general. Spoiler alert! It's kinda dumb! With not many surprising twists and turns we instead get a beautifully shot movie that may or may not be a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice! We've got scary woods, "olden times" (lol), and brainwashing galore in not-really-a-horror-movie movie. Released in 2004, it was written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and stars Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Joaquin Phoenix, Adrien Brody, Brendan Gleeson, and Cherry Jones.

Katie and special guest Jahleel(!) audition at a Performing Arts High School as they re-watch the 80's hit: Fame! #We'reGonnaLiveForever! Come along as we follow high school students as they journey through auditioning into their school and then surviving the next four years. And we do mean SURVIVING, as we encounter lots of real world hardships such as: drug abuse, rejections, death, grief, identity issues, jealously, coming out, abortion, racism, classism, sexual abuse... The list really does just go on and on - so much so that this high school might as well be called Degrassi! But there's also dance! And music! And acting! And honestly, the talent in this film is out of control! This movie may be called Fame, but it sure shows how rocky the road can be to get there. Released in 1980, it was written by Christopher Gore, directed by Alan Parker, and stars Irene Cara, Lee Curreri, Boyd Gaines, Paul McCrane, Laura Dean, Barry Miller, Maureen Teefy, and Gene Anthony Ray.

Katie and special guest her sister Mary(!!!!!) go back to middle school as they re-watch the original: Diary of a Wimpy Kid! It's a movie all about how middle school is a shared trauma for us all and how y'all need to be good friends to one another or you might get the iconic Rowley "not a good friend" speech thrown in your face! Come along as we meet Greg Heffley, a possible future Patrick Bateman, who enters into middle school with a dream of becoming popular. He's got a best friend named Rowley Jefferson who actually IS the coolest kid in school because of how pure he is, but Greg is a jealous jerk and tries to change him. When they experience a friend break up, Greg has to try and survive middle school shenanigans on his own while also dealing with aggressive gym teachers, a pranking older brother, and getting beat up by women during wrestling - EVER HEAR OF TITLE IX!? We've got "cutest friends", secret freckles, and self-esteem videos that we wish were real, all wrapped up in this nostalgic classic! Released in 2010, it was based on the hit book series of the same name and stars Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron, Rachael Harris, Steve Zahn, Devon Bostick, and Chloë Grace Moretz.

Come along we meet Stack and Smoke, twins who return to their hometown to open up a Juke Joint with all their people. They've got their cousin Sammie, aka Preacher Boy - who we really wish they would've called Preacher MAN; Delta Slim, the best drunk harmonica and piano player you've ever met; Cornbread, a guy who should have just held in his pee  - ya know?; Annie, the ACTUAL SAVIOR OF THE MOVIE THANKS ANNIE; Grace, a woman who really was just trying to go home already dang!; and Mary, a white lady who has gone viral on TikTok for all the wrong reasons. When their fun time at the Juke Joint gets interrupted by Remmick, an Irish small guy who loves to jig and culturally appropriate others, the rest of them have to survive those mofo vampires and make it to sundown. Because spoiler alert - they're vampires. We've got yearning men, bloody deaths, and an amazing Spotify soundtrack wrapped up in this awesome movie! Katie and Bridget wave their arms at a baseball game as they re-watch the Disney classic: Angels in the Outfield! Come along as we meet Roger, a foster child living in a temporary home with his BFF J.P, who's also a foster child and it's SAD, GUYS. When his deadbeat dad tells him that they'll only ever be a family again if the California Angels baseball team wins the pennant, Roger prays to God for some help - and he/she listens! For some reason, that prayer gets listened to! Don't! Ask! Questions! Roger and J.P. watch as the Angels begin to win in miraculous ways and they convince the coach that it's angels, which honestly he just radically believes and it's great. This movie brings on all the tears as it asks the deep questions, such as: Why are people so willing to believe in God but not other miraculous things? Why didn't anyone punch Roger's deadbeat dad in the face multiple times throughout this movie? WILL J.P. EVER BE GIVEN THERAPY BECAUSE HE'S CRYING WAY TOO MUCH FOR MY LIKING!? All this and more in this emotionally charged Disney film! Released in 1994, it stars Danny Glover, Brenda Fricker, Tony Danza, Christopher Lloyd, Ben Johnson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Milton Davis Jr., Adrien Brody, Matthew McConaughey, and Dermot Mulroney.

Katie and Bridget question financial decisions being made as they re-watch the movie: Blank Check! Come along as we meet Preston, an 11 year old boy who has no money, no job (lol), and no friends - as we're all incessantly reminded throughout the movie. But Preston does have one thing going for him: a vision board! When he is given a blank check by an escaped convict that nobody's looking for, he gets 1 million dollars and spends it all in 6 days. Somehow his family has no questions! Nor do the police! Including a grown woman named Shay Stanley who literally works at the bank undercover and doesn't see anything weird about all this! It just makes sense! We've got 90's kid antics, boomer-esq money language (BARF), and never ending questions in this Richie Rich wanna be movie. Released in 1994, it stars Brian Bonsall, Karen Duffy, James Rebhorn, Miguel Ferrer, Rick Ducommun, and Tone Loc.

  • A Bug's Life

    Send a text

Katie and Bridget make bug jokes as they re-watch the Pixar classic: A Bug's Life! Come along as we meet Flik, an ant with Rick-Moranis-inventor-dad energy who puts his already enslaved ant colony in more danger by losing all of the gathered food for their evil overlords - aka the grasshoppers (not crickets, which we're still confused by the two). When Hopper, a character that would do great in our current administration with how evil he is, demands they gather twice as much food, Flik sets out to find "warrior bugs" to fight them off and save the colony. Well he doesn't really find that, but he does come across the bug circus filled with bug talents and more - you guessed it - bug jokes. Will the ants be able to be upstanders and defeat the grasshoppers once and for all? Did Katie and Bridget need to do excessive amounts of Googling bug facts during this episode!? Released in 1998, it stars Kevin Spacey, Dave Foley, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Hayden Panettiere, Phyllis Diller, Richard Kind, Denis Leary, Bonnie Hunt, John Ratzenberger, David Hyde Pierce, and Brad Garrett.
