Dear Losers,
We're spending the summer at Camp Hiatus! We're having a great time taking a little break. :) That means we won't release any new episodes all summer, but don't be sad - we'll be back! That's a Terminator quote, we think. Anyway, we wanted to leave you with this fireside chat about films we saw this year or didn't, and what we look forward to. Picture ditching the camp counselors, eating s'mores around the campfire, and empty seltzer cans at our feet. We'll miss you, wish you were here, etc.
Have a great summer and don't forget to Live Más!
With Love, The Queertet (Skye, Quetzal, Antonio, and Dalia)
P.S. If you miss us, listen to our other episodes in the meantime and rate us everywhere you get your podcasts.
We watch one of the most disturbing movies ever created, and to no one’s surprise, it’s a favorite film for Antonio - The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2009). Listen as we sit down and lose part of ourselves while Dalia cries and HEAVILY sighs over the true crime/horror/mockumentary flick that we all immediately repressed. We talk about Disney DILFs, main character energy, looners, fan-fiction terms, serial killers, grave robbing, and the worst parts of humanity.
You can’t find a more emotionally harrowing journey than Dalia watching The Country Bears (2002). One Loser’s trash is another Loser’s bear power! We discourse about how Big Al is THE moment and also about famous bears, Disney lore, Jim Henson, dream band reunions, armpit farters, Property Brother Bear, Betterhead Better Health Papa John’s, and we still owe Cha Cha over there a lot of money!

We watch a close-quarters whodunit on a train that’s been there and done that. Who is she? Murder on the Orient Express (2017). We watch as detective Hercule Poirot boards a train with whacky strangers and find out the true meaning of “we should totally just stab Caesar.” We also discuss ohh wig, Michelle Pfeiffer leaving NO crumbs, murder concerts, Antonio’s love for murder mysteries, and yet another jumpscare (Willem, again!).
Be my little baby! We get the biggest whiplash watching Barbarian (2022) with the world’s most jarring hard cut. And the world’s most jarring baby bottle! We talk a lot about what we would do or wouldn’t do in all these situations, but also chat about our last meals, it’s horror babey, font journalism, emo looks, Paddington, short guy energy, toilet talk, Justin Longifer, and Mother is hot.
TW: discussion about sexual violence and sexual assault

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore grace our screens yet again for 50 First Dates (2004). Since Episode 9, we’ve awaited the great debate about Sandler/Barrymore romcoms and which is better! In this episode... we find out. We talk about our simple human adult pleasures, Rob Schneider (oop! jumpscare!), hair jealousy, what we would do if we were like Lucy, animal actors killing it, missing french fries, and brown-outs.

Pew, pew, pew! And many more delightful gun sounds in our watch of John Wick (2014). We don’t know if y’all know this but… there’s a dead wife in this. It’s so hard to catch, so you’re welcome for that. We giggle a lot over the handsome Mr. Keanu but also over dinner plans, the taste of revenge, grippy socks, Jonathan kill scenes, club vibes, Tyussy Bayussy, and don’t forget about the dead wife.

Our queen runs the longest of cons in Gone Girl (2014). The finesse, the details, the tenacity… your fave could never. It doesn’t hurt that this movie includes the dong heard around the world. We also scheme about unforgettable moments, ghost stories, hidden Dunkies, games of intrigue, the greatest monologue of all time, our collective mental illness, gummy wars, and Barney Star.

Presenting… Miss Jean Jacket. She really is the moment in Nope (2022) and we maintain that she did NOTHING wrong. This movie really had us holding onto our horses while staring at clouds a little bit harder. Come bow to this alien superstar and listen to us chit-chat about bad bitching too hard, horrific soundscapes, horse boys, so much barking, and our fav Peele movies.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Losers’ crying over He’s Just Not That Into You (2009)! There’s a lot of real talk about relationships, but there’s mostly a lot of shout outs to goofy Justin Long. If you aren’t the exception like us, there’s also talks on the brain-melting marriage question, A Cinderella Story, Colin Yost, bussin’ it open, Jeepimus Creepimus, slow burns, and our culminating love song.
