  • Before You Go: a Little Something for the Road. What are you carrying?

What are you carrying right now that you were never meant to carry this far?

Not what needs to get done.

    Not who needs you.

Not what you’re supposed to fix.

I’m talking about the thing that’s been sitting on your shoulders—maybe for months, maybe for years—until you’ve gotten so used to the weight that you’ve started calling it normal.

    Maybe it’s guilt.

    Fear.

    People-pleasing.

    Someone else’s expectations.

    The pressure to be productive.

The need to make everyone happy.

    Grief.

An old version of yourself you’re still trying to live up to.

Or maybe it’s something you haven’t even admitted out loud yet.

In this Before You Go experience, we’re slowing down and opening the backpack we’ve been carrying.

We’re looking at what’s inside—not to judge it, fix it, or throw everything away…

but to ask one really important question:

“Does this still belong to me?”

Because sometimes the things we’re carrying aren’t bad. They just aren’t ours anymore.

And when we finally put something down, there is something waiting on the other side:

    room.

    Room to breathe.

    Room to rest.

    Room to laugh.

    Room to create.

Room for the people we love.

    Room for faith.

    Room for joy.

    Room to hear ourselves.

    Room to hear God.

    Room to become.

This is a quiet invitation to stop trying to carry everything, fix everything, and be everything.

Because you can care deeply without carrying everything.

You can love people without fixing them.

You can change without becoming someone else.

You can trust God without knowing the entire road ahead.

And maybe the next chapter of your life doesn’t require you to become stronger or work harder.

Maybe it requires you to carry less.

🪑 Something for the Road: Put one thing down.

Just one. Then notice what becomes possible when you make a little room.

💬 Now I want to hear from YOU.

What is one thing you’re ready to stop carrying?

    It can be one word.

    One sentence.

Or something you’ve been carrying for years.

Share it in the comments below. You never know who might read your words and realize they’re carrying the same thing.

And if you’re not ready to share publicly, that’s okay.

Write it somewhere just for you.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

Come as you are.Stay as long as you need.

    You are not alone.

  • The Life That Fits: Who Are You Becoming When You Stop Living for Everyone Else?

What if you don’t need to become someone new?

What if you need to make enough room to finally become more fully yourself?

In this episode of Sit With Me, we’re talking about the versions of ourselves we’ve built to be needed, successful, helpful, strong, responsible, accepted—and what happens when those identities start to feel a little too tight.

Sometimes life changes and we realize we don’t recognize ourselves anymore. Sometimes we’ve spent so long doing what we’re “supposed” to do that we forget to ask a very important question:

Do I actually like the life I’m building?

We’ll talk about the courage it takes to outgrow old versions of ourselves, the difference between loving what you do and losing yourself in what you do, and why building a meaningful life isn’t necessarily about making your life bigger, busier, or more impressive.

It might simply be about making it fit.

There’s a little laughter, some honest reflection, stories from my own journey, a few people who remind us what authenticity can look like, and a gentle invitation to start noticing what makes you feel most like you.

And underneath it all is a question I keep coming back to:

What if the person you’re becoming isn’t someone new at all—but the person you’ve been underneath all those layers?

And maybe, just maybe, God isn’t asking you to become someone else.

Maybe He’s inviting you to come home.

Something for the Road:You don’t have to build a perfect life. You get to build a life that fits.

Come as you are. Stay as long as you need. You are not alone. 🌊

  • What’s in your backpack: Protecting Your Peace

What if protecting your peace doesn’t mean building higher walls?

What if it means growing deeper roots?

For so long, I thought loving people meant carrying everything for them.

    Their disappointment.

    Their struggles.

    Their emotions.

    Their expectations.

    But I’m learning something different:

I can be responsible to people without becoming responsible for them.

In Episode 8 of Sit With Me, we’re talking about the invisible backpacks we all carry… the things we pick up so slowly that we forget what it feels like to set them down.

I’m also sharing a special message for Jonas, a 12-year-old listener who reminded me that courage doesn’t have an age limit.

We’re talking about anxiety, identity, grief, boundaries, faith, and the beautiful reminder that we were never meant to carry the whole world.

    Maybe today is your reminder:

You can love deeply without losing yourself.

You can have boundaries without becoming hard.

You can keep your porch light on without letting everything move into your living room.

If you’ve been carrying too much…

this conversation is for you. 🤍

    Come as you are,

Stay as long as you need.

    You are always welcome here.

  • Before You Go… A Little Something for the Road | From Knowing to Living

Over the last few episodes, we’ve explored what it means to choose courage over fear, discover gratitude in the ordinary, and create a life that feels like home—not because everything is perfect, but because we’re learning to live from a place of peace, belonging, and love.

But growth doesn’t happen simply because we hear something that inspires us. It happens when we slow down long enough to reflect, practice, and begin living it.

In this Before You Go conversation, we’re taking a moment to pause before moving on. Together, we’ll revisit the biggest takeaways from Episodes 5, 6, and 7, ask a few honest questions, and explore practical ways to carry courage, gratitude, and peace into our everyday lives.

Because the goal isn’t just to know these truths…

It’s to become the kind of people who live them.

Before you head back into your week, pull up a chair, take a deep breath, and stay a little longer. There’s always a place for you here.

🌊 Something for the Road: A short conversation with practical tools, gentle encouragement, and a reminder that you don’t have to navigate life’s waves alone.

  • The Way Home | Becoming a Place of Belonging

What if “coming home” has never been about a place at all?

In this episode, we’re exploring what it means to build a life where you no longer have to earn your belonging.

After years of tying my identity to productivity, walking through unexpected layoffs, grieving the life I thought I’d have, and slowly rediscovering who God created me to be, I’ve realized that home isn’t found in achievement—it’s found in abiding.

Together, we’ll talk about the quiet ways we lose ourselves, the layers we build to protect and prove our worth, and how God lovingly invites us to peel those layers back so His light can shine through.

We’ll sit around my Gramma’s table, visit the cottage, gather around a bonfire, and discover why the places that shape us most aren’t perfect—they’re the places where we’re fully known, deeply loved, and welcomed just as we are.

Because maybe the greatest invitation isn’t simply to find your way home.

Maybe it’s to become the kind of person whose life reflects God’s love so clearly that others feel safe enough to breathe, belong, and remember who they were created to be.

🌊 In this episode, we’ll explore:

    * Why we unknowingly build our identity around what we do

    * The difference between having a house and feeling at home

    * How grief, transition, and unexpected change can reveal what’s underneath the surface

    * What it means to let God gently rebuild us from the inside out

    * Practical ways to create a life—and become a person—that reflects peace, belonging, and love

Because home isn’t just somewhere you go. It’s something you carry.

So, Pull up a chair. Take a deep breath. There’s always a place for you here.

  • Slow Growth Is Still Growth

Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the right things… but nothing seems to be changing?

In a world that celebrates overnight success and instant results, it’s easy to believe that slow progress means no progress at all. But what if the most meaningful growth is happening beneath the surface—quietly, steadily, one ordinary day at a time?

In this episode, we’re talking about gardens, cold cups of coffee, comparison, courage, and the beauty of trusting a process you can’t always see. Through personal stories, practical coaching, and a few laughs along the way, we’ll explore how to celebrate small victories, embrace the pace of growth, and stop measuring our lives by someone else’s timeline.

If you’ve been wondering whether you’re making progress, this conversation is your reminder:

You don’t have to grow overnight to be growing.

Pull up a chair, settle in, and let’s trust the process together.

🪑 Something to Sit With: This week, notice one small way you’ve grown each day. Tiny steps still move you forward, and every root growing beneath the surface is preparing for something beautiful.

  • The Beautiful Risk of Becoming | Choosing Courage. Living with Gratitude.

The Beautiful Risk of Becoming | Choosing Courage. Living with Gratitude.

What if courage isn’t about making one giant leap?

What if it’s found in the quiet decisions we make every day—to press publish, have the conversation, watch the sunset, laugh a little louder, and stop waiting for life to begin “someday.”

In this episode, we’re talking about the beautiful risk of becoming who you were always created to be. Together we’ll explore why fear often disguises itself as wisdom, how gratitude helps us notice the beauty hidden in ordinary moments, and why the life you’re longing for may already be unfolding around you.

Along the way, I’ll share stories from my own life, lessons from a puppy who found joy in an ordinary stick, the legacy my Gramma left me through her “Ocean of Love,” and a simple invitation to live with a little more courage, presence, and wonder.

So pour yourself a cup of coffee, pull up a chair, and let’s remember together:

Your life isn’t waiting for you somewhere in the future. It’s happening right now.

  • Before you Go, Something for the Road: Learning to Ride the Tide

Over the last few episodes, we’ve talked about the kind of exhaustion no one sees, what happens when the next wave hits, untangling our worth from productivity, and what it means to come home to ourselves.

But awareness is only the beginning.

How do we actually live differently?

In this special Something for the Road episode, we’re slowing down to reflect on what we’ve learned and turning those conversations into practical next steps. Together, we’ll explore five anchors to help you navigate life’s waves with more intention, peace, and courage.

We’ll talk about noticing the wave instead of fighting it, identifying what you truly need, returning to what grounds you, rediscovering joy in the ordinary, and remembering that your worth has never been something you had to earn.

Whether you’re in a season of burnout, transition, grief, or simply longing to feel more like yourself again, this episode is an invitation to stop striving, start noticing, and take one gentle step toward the life that’s unfolding right in front of you.

It’s to learn how to ride the tide.

Something for the Road: A short conversation with practical tools, gentle encouragement, and a reminder that you don’t have to navigate life’s waves alone.

  • Coming Home to Yourself: The Treasure Was Never Gone

Have you ever looked around at the life you’ve built and realized you’ve become really good at managing everyone and everything… but you’ve lost touch with yourself?

In this episode of Sit With Me, we’re talking about what it means to come home to yourself after years of living for responsibilities, expectations, productivity, and the needs of everyone around you.

Together, we’ll explore why so many of us feel disconnected from who we are, the difference between being selfish and abandoning ourselves, and how the clues to our truest selves may have been with us all along.

Through stories of childhood scavenger hunts, Gramma’s couch, dogs with the zoomies, donuts, and the unexpected lessons hidden in everyday life, this conversation is both a gentle invitation and a reminder:

You don’t need to become someone new.

You simply need to remember who you’ve been all along.

    If you’ve ever wondered:

✨ What makes me come alive?

    ✨ What do I enjoy?

✨ Who am I beyond my responsibilities?

✨ How do I find myself again?

    This episode is for you.

  • Who Are You When You’re Not Producing?

Why is it so hard to slow down?

Why do we feel guilty when we rest, anxious when we have nothing demanding our attention, or uncomfortable when we’re not accomplishing something?

In this deeply personal episode, Amy Rose shares her journey through burnout, layoffs, grief, infertility, identity shifts, and the quiet realization that her worth had become tangled up in being productive, useful, and needed.

Together, we’ll explore the question many of us don’t even realize we’re asking:

    “Am I enough?”

    🌊 In this episode:

    * Why rest can feel threatening instead of peaceful

    * The hidden connection between productivity and self-worth

    * How being the “strong one” can quietly become an identity

    * Why busyness is often easier than honesty

    * The achievement trap that keeps us chasing “enough”

    * Lessons learned through grief, infertility, and unexpected life transitions

    * What it means to remember who you are beyond your accomplishments

What if the exhaustion isn’t coming from doing too little? What if it’s coming from spending years trying to prove something that was already true?

If you’ve ever struggled to rest, felt guilty for slowing down, or wondered who you are underneath all the responsibilities, expectations, and striving, this conversation is for you.

Because maybe the goal isn’t learning how to do less.

Maybe the goal is remembering who you are.

Pull up a chair, take a breath, and sit with me.
