We spent the day floating in the lake. Now, on top looking out over its moonlit glow, the campfire crackles and nature’s nighttime metronome plays gently. Sep 2019.

The night is cool and there’s a light breeze drifting up through the valley. The nocturnal mountains are alive with creatures, and in the distance, a whinny, a hoot, and a howl. Sep 2019.

The tide is on the turn. With it, the waves lap along the shore, sending the sandpipers scurrying in a continuous rhythm. A few gulls chirp as they fly overhead and some call from nearby as we sit tideside on a summer’s afternoon. June 2019.

A thick summer shower blew through here this afternoon. In its wake, a dew fresh dampness and cricketing croaking of the surrounding wooded meadow. The constant pulsing of the creatures and the frogs adding to the full night. August 2019.

Close your eyes. Imagine a warm summer breeze blowing gently. Hear the birds calling out from the nearby woods. Feel the cold creek water flow past you as you stand on its shores with its constant lulling trickle. Open your eyes. July 2019.

It’s early morning on the banks of the Delaware. There’s still a low cloud hugging the treeline before the streaks of sun will light up the shores and site. The birds are vocal, chip chip chirruping with their close calls and distant replies over the hushing-rushing of the river as it flattens out over the eel weir. July 2019.

Here we are. Past the grassy field and nestled among the trees overlooking the Penobscot River. Birds are chirping and insects buzzing in the light morning breeze before the summer sun sets in. July 2019.
