The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has been given the greenlight to investigate allegations of corruption and maladministration in the agreement between the SABC and the Gupta-Owned TNA Media Pty (Ltd) over the "TNA Breakfast Briefings" programme. This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa signed a proclamation dated the 18th of October 2024. The proclamation authorises the SIU to investigate serious maladministration in connection with the affairs of the SABC in respect of the TNA briefings, which were hosted and broadcast by the SABC.
