It is June 6, 2020 and America is still reeling after witnessing the murder of George Floyd. Peaceful protests and riots continue in cities all over our nation and our nation's police forces, governors, mayors, and national leaders are divided over how to handle the national unrest. Amidst all this turmoil and brokenness, how will the Church respond?
Psalm 33:18-22, "But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you."
May we hold fast to God's love, goodness, may God's kingdom and justice prevail over the evil in this world, and may God have mercy on us for our complacency, evil, and injustice. May we be transformed into a glorious people who bring peace and justice to this Earth.
