Six-Figure Trucker

In this special holiday edition of the Six Figure Trucker, we want to wish all of our drivers a Merry Christmas and highlight one that truly embodied the reason for the season this year. We’re honored to briefly recount how one of our selfless drivers risked his life to pull two young women out of a burning vehicle and save their lives. For his heroic efforts, Rodney Clay was named a Truckload Carriers Association’s Highway Angel. 

This is another example of the many drivers we seek to elevate and celebrate because, quite frankly, they deserve it. We’re honored to bring their stories to light. So, to every truck driver tuning in, thank you. Thank you for the miles you cover and the sacrifices you make to ensure our holiday seasons are full of cheer and our tables are full of yuletide feasts. From all of us at the Six Figure Trucker and Norton Transport, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a season filled with joy, peace, and prosperity. We were introduced last week to Leopold Ruddock and were amazed at his talent and tenacity to become the fastest track athlete in his class and set records that still stand at the school of his homeland in Jamaica. Today, we hear how that same talent and tenacity fueled his rise to become a nationally top-ranked driver in his new homeland of America. You simply can’t keep this man down. Driveaway’s Leo-the-Lion is driven to succeed, and he does it with class. As you’ll hear in today’s conversation, he carries a deep respect for the craft and for the people he meets along the way. Growing up in Jamaica, our guest today was well acquainted with the elite global status of his homeland in track sports. Personally, though, Leopold Ruddock was far from elite. He remembers coming in last in most events through his first couple of years in high school. But, everything changed when Leopold began to train. In his last two years, Leo’s  unusual training regimen combined with his competitive fire to leave his classmates in the dust! Amazingly, he has records that stand to this day!

For the past 30 years, Leopold has brought his hard work and competitive fire in the world of driveaway trucking. And, although he is a nice guy, he never finishes last! From Jamaica to Georgia, from the track to the open roads, one thing remains the same: Leopold Ruddock is elite. We’re so pleased to have him as our guest for these next two episodes of the #SixFigureTrucker.

We’re on a mission here at the Six Figure Trucker to elevate and celebrate drivers on this podcast. And let me tell you, they’re worth celebrating. You just have to get to know them.
