Today Pastor Glen Thomas looks at the readings for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, Series A in the Three Year Lectionary. In the Old Testament lesson, God testifies that He is the only true God and that there is no other God. In the Epistle, we hear Paul look ahead to the glory that will accompany the Second Coming of Christ and how the sufferings of this world are not worth comparing to the glory of that day. In the Gospel lesson, we hear Christ in the Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds, speak clearly about the reality of judgment to come, bad news for unbelievers, but glorious news for the righteous.
