Fr. Carlson's homily from the Epiphany of the Lord - January 8, 2023

The 3 Magi recognize Jesus as God and King. The magi can no longer return on the road they came on - both physically, because of Herod’s hunger for power, and interiorly. They are transformed by their encounter with Jesus.

The magi give Jesus gifts - we are called to do the same. What does Jesus desire? He wants the gift of you. What is he going to do with this gift? He’s going to transform you. We are called to walk in a new way, to walk on the road of love which alone can transform the world.

Fr. Carlson speaks about Mary's peace, and how we too have the same opportunity to experience that peace, the peace we are longing for.
