Today we celebrate Pentecost. The Holy Spirit came not just for the apostles but for the whole world! This is a big deal. Our advocate is still with us - we just need to open our hearts and trust in Him.

This weekend we celebrate both the Ascension of the Lord AND the confirmation of our 10th graders. The Gospel reading from Mark 16 is really fitting for confirmation as Jesus tells His disciples to go out and proclaim the gospel to every creature. This is what we are called to do as Christians. What a beautiful second reading from 1 Jn 2:1-5a. The early Christians were being baptized and asking how they are supposed to live their lives. St. Paul reassures them that Jesus is their advocate who will give them grace. Please take a moment to reflect upon this reading and pray to let Him be present in your lives.

The Gospel reading for this Second Sunday of Easter is SO encouraging! The disciples were afraid and locked themselves in the upper room. *Do you ever feel afraid to go to God?

Jesus responds by saying, "Peace be with you..." He has infinite love and mercy for us. Let us not be afraid to go to Him.
