Join us for our second episode where we talk with Violet Awwad, a California Climate Action Corps fellow serving with the urban forestry non profit, Our City Forest about the importance of trees for our physical and environmental health, along with how you can get involved with Our City Forest.
Violet Awwad is a California Climate Action Corps (CCAC) fellow serving with the non-profit Our City Forest. Violet received her Associate of Science degree in Natural Science and Mathematics from Napa Valley College where she transferred to the University of California, Berkeley to study sustainable environmental design and food systems. She has experience in urban agriculture, energy and water efficiency programs, and now urban forestry education. As a California Climate Action Corps fellow with Our City Forest, she is co-operating the Green Silicon Valley Schools program with her co-fellow, Bryan Graybill. Together, they focus on planting trees and shrubs in schools located in historically underserved areas as well as educating the community on the importance of urban forestry on our health, the environment's health, and climate change.
