Skateboarder And Podcast

The podcast is back for 2020! It's been a while since we've had an independent skate shop on the podcast and what better way to do it than by having on our own local purveyor of skateboarding goodness! Our first episode of the year is with skateboarder and dark overlord of the UK's most mosher skate store... Declan O'Hara.

We talk about getting into skateboarding thanks to 'Tony Hawks Pro Skater', starting Kvltivation, tough years, colabs, skate teams, dwarfs, skate dad Nick Zorlac, corporate logos, making kids cry and much more!

In this episode I got to sit down with skateboarder, teacher, educator, and Documentary Film Maker Ms. Kelli Watson. Straight up, Kelli is an awesome human being. Her love of skateboarding comes from a slightly different angle than most and in part due to working with skateboarders who are also her students. She's developed a passion for the culture and is about to premier her second Documentary 'We Can Fly 2' about skateboarding and creativity. I was stoked to be featured in her first film 'We Can Fly' along side such awesome artists such as; Ben Gore, Ed Templeton, Eloise Dorr and Barry Kay (to name a few)!

Check out the episode and then come down to the premier of 'We Can Fly 2' at the Doomed Gallery (65 Ridley Rd, London E8 2NP) on the 7th of August from 6pm! Free beer, free art and good vibes!

Either way I'm off for a skate with Kelli.

If you like to get your skate video fix from; Thrasher, Transworld, Pixels or Sidewalk to name but a few, you've probably seen this guys work. And if you're a Manchester local you've definitely seen it.

He may be the youngest guest we've ever had on the podcast but his work ethic and back catalogue is packed full of radness! For the second episode of series three we have the man behind 01 Fuckin 61, Black Sheep Lensman, skateboarder and Videographer, Mr. Isaac Wilkinson!

We made it to series 3 of the 'Skateboarder And...' podcast and we thought we'd start with a #nbd

For the first episode of series three we have a skateboarder, actor, activist and member of the marvel universe, Mr. Nick Blood! We talk about skating Argos boards, Southbank, discovering Milton Keynes, double tongues, shell toes and moving to Bristol. We discuss getting into acting, working multiple jobs to pay for drama school, TV shows, films, realising your job is now public consumption - the anxiety that brings, and getting on Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.LD.

Finally getting back in to skating and whether he'll return for another series of that Marvel show. Nick was a gent and this is one of the most interesting episodes of the podcast we've ever done.
