Skating Is Hard

This episode, new homie Niko Lara comes on the show. We talk about him and his friend's negative experience with some of the Pizza skateboards guys and the recent controversy over one of their boards graphics. From there we talk about some of the positive things coming out of the Sacramento skate scene as well as Niko's experience with being a skate photographer. Lastly we go over the Independent Trucks logo and how much of skateboarding still isn't ready to let it go.

As skaters, whether we want to or not, we are often faced with non-skater’s perception of us. From our encounters with people in the streets, to our depictions in popular media, it seems like a subject that greatly fascinates us. I wanted to get an idea of some of these perceptions by asking a few of my non-skating friends a number of questions I prepared. Though to be honest, I’m not sure if I learned anything? I’m also not sure if they learned anything? Are we all better for this? I don’t know, TALK TO MY PUBLICIST!

(Thank you to all my friends who participated, I love you)

YOO. Episode 3!! Got the first guest on the pod this week! A friend from #skatetwitter; skater, musician, CENSORED Dialogue. We talk a bunch of shit and cover some important topics in this episode. We go from the CENSORED's experiences as a queer and trans skater, to the freaky child star skater Instagrams, to the Nyjah allegations. Hope you enjoy!!!

Second episode, wow, can you belief it? In this episode I talk about Kareem Campbell, Chad Muska and the skateboarding Hall Of Fame. Afterwords, things gets DEEP when I talk about injuries and what we as skaters can learn from them, covering some of my personal experiences and stories of some pro's experiences with bad, possibly career-changing injuries.

First episode! I introduce myself and why I made the strange decision to do this pod. I go over Na-kel Smith's IG live where he talked about issues facing black skaters, skateboarders being outed for racist incidences, and the latest (last?) Loveletters episode where Jeff Grosso shines a light on the LGBTQIA+ community in skateboarding.

Recorded on 6/23/20 if it feels a tad bit dated.
