My key focus this year is slowing down and connecting with myself and others... rather than rushing back into hustle mode post-pandemic and feeling like I need to catch up on all the things I COULD have accomplished, I'm taking these last few years as a sign that the universe is telling us to slow the f*ck down already.
Who are we hustling for?
At the end of our lives, will we regret not working hard enough or taking enough clients? Or will we regret not slowing down and living in our moments of connection with other humans?
I have always felt the beauty industry is in a unique position to connect through touch, and when we hustle so hard it jacks up our nervous system and we can't create those connections anymore.
It's time to slow down.
This episode is part of an interview I did for Adriana's podcast, Confidence in Your Skin.
Adriana is the owner of Chic Sensation Esthetics in Magnolia, TX and one of the graduates from my Holistic Facial Certification Course. She has recently transitioned her business to focus more exclusively on holistic esthetics and wanted to talk about what holistic esthetics actually is (and is not).
We had some great conversations about everything from the pandemic to shame in treatments to sound healing... I hope you enjoy our first of hopefully many collaborations!
Hey everyone!
New year, new goals... new episodes... new content, etc. etc... I am getting there, I promise.
For now, I have a replay from a course I did on aging called "Transcend Aging." This is just a very small portion of clips from the audio recording of that course. If you are interested in the full Transcend Series, you can find it on Skinobsessededucation.com

See ya soon!
Seems like everyone is a witch now, doesn't it? Maybe it's Halloween and Scorpio season. Maybe everyone got really spiritual when we, you know, went through a hugely traumatizing event recently. Or maybe we are just realizing we are powerful creatures with a lot of co-creating to do around here to rebuild the life we want post-pandemic. Regardless, there are ways and reasons we ALL connect with the archetype of the witch, and I for one am here for everyone embodying that powerful, feminine energy. As skin witches, we have the ability to connect with our guests in deep and meaningful ways through ritual and intention (aka, casting spells). Are you ready to step out of the shadows, claim your power and co-create with the universe?

It's like Hogwart's, but for skin.
Hi magical friends! Welcome back. In this episode, you will hear a workshop I hosted for students in my Holistic Facial Certification course called "Heal + Vibe" with a special guest - my sister, Amanda.
Amanda is a sound healer based Los Angeles. Our goal was to do a deep dive into sound and how it all works. What is a sound healer or a sound bath? How can we use this healing modality in facials? She shares the answers to these questions, some of her tools and a lot of insight into how this can help connect with our clients in the treatment room.
I could not be more excited to share this with you - happy listening!!!

Welcome to the Skin Obsessed Podcast! My name is Bethany Kristiansen. I am a licensed esthetician and instructor in Austin Texas and this podcast is my way of sharing all the holistic topics, business tips and other skincare industry things I am currently obsessed with!
Today’s episode is an introduction to herbs in skincare. I find this topic fascinating from a holistic perspective, but it’s also very personal to me. I am the daughter of an Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist, and this is one way that I find myself connecting with my dad and really honoring his memory. This was recorded as part of a free online workshop that I hosted recently and serves as an introduction to the Holistic Facial Certification that I will be launching next month.
All information for future workshops and certifications can be found on my website, so don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter and follow me on IG!

Are you struggling with selling retail? A lot of times I find estheticians are just making random recommendations with no strategy, and they strike out every time.
Here is one of my strategies that I have found helpful both on the sales side and in the treatment room - prioritizing products. By that, I mean deciding what is MOST important for the client to use and leading with that recommendation before anything else. It is not important to try and sell everything possible or to be pushy. It is important to us and our relationships that we sell what people need to make real changes in their skin.
