Whenever someone makes the difficult decision to come out as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, the first thing we hear about is how they’re “free.” Coming out is definitely one of the most important elements in the life of any LGBT person, and sometimes it’s not by choice.

Tony Perkins is a liar. There’s no other way to put it. Between him and his “Senior Fellow,” Peter Sprigg, the Family Research Council has worked to systematically strike fear into the hearts of people all across the nation — by lying. Repeatedly. About gays. And Scouts.

I have stated publicly that I support the inclusion of gay boys and men into the Boy Scouts of America — as it provides an opportunity for all men and boys to build character, strength, and their intellect in ways that they rarely have inside their homes or classrooms. I speak from experience — having spent a large chunk of my childhood with a Cub Scout pack and a Boy Scout troop.

Truth in Action Ministries (the religious group started by D. James Kennedy as Coral Ridge Ministries) posted a video this week that used the iceberg that Titanic hit in 1912 as an analogy for how the “radical homosexual agenda” will sink American society. The short film features a small army of anti-gay activists and preachers, all presenting a sordid picture of American culture of those horrible gays get their way and are able to claim equality.
