After a whirlwind couple of days, Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney finally got down to work as Celtic faced Falkirk at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.
Following an uncertain start to the season under Brendan Rodgers, the interim duo delivered a refreshing performance — an encouraging glimpse of what might be to come in the weeks ahead.
Both men have ruled themselves out of taking the job on a permanent basis, meaning speculation over Celtic’s next manager continues to swirl.
So too do the protests from fans, with a large group gathering outside the main entrance before kick-off to keep up the pressure on the club’s hierarchy.
