Ephesians 5:15-17 & Mark 1:35-39. We all would love more time. But if God magically gave us an extra hour a day, most of us would not spend that extra hour doing the things that matter most. William Penn said, “Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” Since we can’t go back in time or make more time, we only have one choice: to make the most of the time we have. Luke 10:38-42. In our culture more is said to be best. However, the more we squeeze into our schedule, the less margin we have in our life. Margin is the amount available beyond what is necessary. When we don’t have margin in our life, we don’t have the ability to take advantage of unplanned opportunities that God puts in our path. Margin matters… because great stuff can happen in the margins.

Matthew 5:14-16. When light is absent, darkness takes over. However, when light is present, it stands out and alleviates darkness. A light doesn’t need an announcement that it’s a light. It just is. And when a light is present, its presence is obvious. In the midst of darkness in our world, Jesus calls us to be the light.
