Season 2 Episode 3 – Pete Finds a Soapbox

After the usual creepy, “Hey, Buddy,” Kevin has a great story about his recent trip to Montana. You can imagine how prepared he was to hike in the mountains.

Pete’s quality training continues. He recaps a solid 9-mile run and discusses how the run/walk method works for him.

Then Pete finds a soapbox with an abrupt pivot. As we all know, he has type 2 diabetes. He’s been on Ozempic and recently switched to Maunjaro. How have these meds impacted him? How can we as a society normalize these drugs? Important stuff, if unusual for the Slackpackers podcast.

Season 2 Episode 2 – Amateurs

Kevin kicks off this episode with a race recap. Do you remember him talking about having an upcoming race? No? Oh, he didn’t bother to mention it.

Pete’s recap includes some good workouts and how Regain (not a sponsor) is working as his electrolyte drink. He quickly pivots to an existential crisis when it comes to nature. He also rants against the new visa requirements coming in Brazil. Makes total sense for this podcast.
