Late spring in the Catskill Mountains, the Marten’s Rest Resort is throwing a 100th-anniversary celebration—banners strung up, cabins booked, and the promise of hiking, fresh air, and bad decisions. Ann arrives determined to drag her friends Brian, a brooding wannabe metal icon, and knife-obsessed Jane out of their comfort zones and into nature… whether they like it or not.
They’re not alone. A demanding couple, an intense gym-bro coach, a flustered manager, a clueless reporter and his cameraman, and an odd mix of other guests fill the lodge with clashing egos and slasher-movie stereotypes. As thunder rumbles over Tempest Mountain and the trees sway in a wind that shouldn’t be there, a late-night errand into the woods and a panicked scream shatter the cozy resort atmosphere. The anniversary party has barely begun when the first hint of real horror shows that something in the forest is watching—and it’s not done yet.
About the Chronicle
Slasher Flick: The Night on Tempest Mountain is a horror role-playing chronicle that embraces everything you love about classic slasher films: larger-than-life characters, bad decisions in the dark, storm-lashed woods, and a relentless, unseen threat. Using the Slasher Flick rules, the story follows a cast of primary and secondary characters trapped at a remote mountain resort during its centennial celebration, where local legends about old murders and Tempest Mountain’s cursed woods refuse to stay in the past.
Players juggle multiple characters, earn “genre points” by leaning into slasher tropes, and fight to survive as the body count rises. It’s bloody, chaotic, darkly funny, and built to feel like you’re watching a late-night VHS horror marathon—only this time, you’re the one trying not to die before the credits roll.
