Hey Goons and Happy October! This month we are talking all films by the goth king himself, Tim Burton! Join Ade and Lance as they discuss Burton's background, his chisme, as well as his 1999 film based on Washington Irving's tale of the headless horseman, Sleepy Hollow. The film stars Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, the late Michael Gambon (RIP Dumbledore), the late Michael Gough (RIP Alfred), Miranda Richardson, Caser Van Dien, Jeffrey Jones, with cameos from Christopher Lee and Lisa Marie, and Christopher Walken as the headless horseman (with Ray Park as the horseman sans the head). Loosely based on Irving's beloved tale, the film follows Ichabod Crane as he travels from NYC to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the deaths of 3 people whom were decapitated by the headless horseman. You can stream this on HBO Max if you haven't see it yet!

What are your favorite Tim Burton films? Are there any you are dying for us to cover? Let us know your thoughts!!!

Happy Monday, Goons!  It’s our final back to school episode here on Slashers Podcast and we wanted to bring you a film that packs in all the nostalgia. While Summer of ‘84 may have been released in 2018, it legitimately feels like we’ve been transported back in time.  Join Mikey, Ade and Lance as they walk down memory lane and dissect this gem from the same dudes who brought you Turbo Kid.  The film follows a group of teens who suspect their police officer neighbor of being a serial killer. Starring Judah Lewis, Caleb Emery, Graham Verchere, and Rich Sommer, it’s a fun ride in the suburbs that takes a dark and twisted turn. This one’s currently streaming on Shudder, so if you haven’t seen it yet, we highly recommend you watch before you listen, as there are spoilers aplenty.

Let's take a trip down mammary lane. It's the 90s and we just got home from school after walking a treacherous .25 miles route. Sweating from the hot sun throwing our backpacks on the couch we flop ourselves on the couch and turn on Nickelodeon, only to be welcomed by the eerie sounds of Are You Afraid of The Dark.

Join today's hosts, Mikey, Ade, Doug, and Lance as we dive into three episodes and talk all things Spooky Ooky on Nickelodeon.

Welcome to our first episode of Dog Days of Summer here on Slashers Podcast!  The weather and heat this year has got us all hot and bothered in our respective states, so we decided to do films that feature some sort of canine creature.  Today’s episode has Mikey, Doug and Ade discussing 2006’s The Breed.  The film is presented by Wes Craven and directed by Nicholas Mastandrea, who actually served as Craven’s first assistant director for 1994’s Wes Craven’s New Nightmare.  Thankfully, the film features a star-studded up and coming cast of Michelle Rodriguez, Taryn Manning, Eric Lively (yes, Blake’s brother), Oliver Hudson (yes, Kate’s brother), and Hill Harper. The film follows a group of five college kids who are forced to match wits with unwelcoming residents when they fly to a "deserted" island for a party weekend.  Your hosts even get into their thoughts about what they think of the new Saw X film, as well as The Exorcist: The Believer.  Are you excited for the new horror to come? Let us know in the comments!  If you want to watch The Breed before listening, and we recommend you do, it’s currently streaming FOR FREE on Tubi and FreeVee (through Prime if you have it).
