Publisher's Summary:
All of London is abuzz over the imminent arrival of Wulfric Bedwyn, the reclusive, cold-as-ice Duke of Bewcastle, at the most glittering social event of the season. Some whisper of a tragic love affair. Others say he is so aloof and passionless that not even the greatest beauty could capture his attention. But on this dazzling afternoon, one woman did catch the duke's eye - and she was the only female in the room who wasn't even trying.
Christine Derrick is intrigued by the handsome duke...all the more so when he invites her to become his mistress. What red-blooded woman wouldn't enjoy a tumble in the bedsheets with a consummate lover - with no strings and no questions asked. An infuriating lady with very definite views on men, morals, and marriage, Christine confounds Wulfric at every turn. Yet even as the lone wolf of the Bedwyn clan vows to seduce her any way he can, something strange and wonderful is happening. Now for a man who thought he'd never lose his heart, nothing less than love will do.
Contains mature themes.
Critic Reviews:
"With this series, Balogh has created a wonderfully romantic world of Regency culture and society. Readers will miss the honorable Bedwyns and their mates; ending the series with Wulfric's story is icing on the cake. Highly recommended." (

Ten Stars!
I have read this book several times but rushed to buy it at in audio format. Rosalyn Landor is perfect for Mary Balogh's writing. I will listen to this many times!
Fantastic Finish!
This was an awesome conclusion to the Bedwyn Saga. This was story about the Duke of Bedcastle the last Bedwyn sibling to fall in love. This was one of my favorites in this series. This listen was well worth the credit with a five star review.
Delightfully damaged characters ending a series
Wulfric's story is the one we all waited for. I took back one star for our heroine's protesting beyond the point of sense (no spoiler, I won't say what she's refusing to do). But loved that she leaps before she looks, spills, rips, tears, falls, and generally isn't your usual heroine at all. Definitely a girl I could relate to.
Finally, finally we get an explanation of Wulfric's frozen demeanor and ducal behavior even to his family. He goes from iceberg to...well, making sense at last while staying true to character. Plus some real surprises that are also true to character. Love it when a hero can go from scary frigid to sympathetic in the course of a book.
I'm being a bit vague, but I don't want to spoil it for others. The narrator is awesome and I totally lost myself in the story without ever noticing the narrator once things began, which to me is the mark of greatness. Kudos!
If there was a way to give partial stars, this would honestly be a 4 3/4 as I suspect the author could have kept the conflict cranked without resorting that one last time too many. Regardless, I bought this the minute I could and you won't be sorry if you do.
The Unforgettable Bedwyns
The only sad thought of these books are that there are no more siblings to write about. Their personalities are so great, humorous, strong willed, strong tempered and just plain fun. I hope Mary Balogh will continue with their off spring and create more stories of romance.
