  • Your Inner Critic

You’ve wrestled with your inner critic and you’ve let the voice in your head run your whole life. Now you’re worried she is winning this fight. If you’ve let those negative thoughts hold you back from taking big steps towards your goals and dreams, then you’ll definitely want to tune into this episode with guest Coach Jennie.  We discuss how this voice you hear in your head is keeping you filtered (and why it's totally normal).

Coach Jennie is the expert in the Inner-Critic, or as she calls her - Hilda. She is the author of Hilda: Tackle Your Inner Naysayer, Get Out of Your Own Way, and Unleash Your Badassery. Oh, and by the way, she’s MY coach, too. I have worked with Jennie for several years to learn how to get out of my own way. Now, it’s my turn to share her with you.

Coach Jennie and I chatted about:

    • What “squandering your potential” really means
    • How the self-proclaimed gurus are gaslighting their followers
    • Why hanging out with like-minded people is actually dangerous for your growth
    • A big shift she made in her own business that scared the crap out of her (but she did it anyway)
    • Why coming out meant becoming unfiltered

  • Backstabbing Women

Kieu was such an inspiring guest to have on the show. I seriously would have talked with her for hours. She is a jewelry maker and teacher who is a fireball when it comes to tenacity, dealing with the bullshit and moving forward.  Kieu has an amazing outlook on working together as women in business and in life.

    Kieu and I chatted about:

    • What it means to be a village
    • Why women tend to talk shit about other women in business
    • How to overcome a horrible situation and make things better

This episode has a moderate to high F-Bomb Factor.

  • Catholic Queers

Ruth was an absolute delight to have on the show. She is a UK transplant, now living in Canada with her wife and adjusting to all the things. She's an educator by profession and a writer by passion. (She's looking for a literary agent..hint hint).

    Ruth and I chatted about

    • What it means to be queer in the workplace (and when coming out isn't the answer)
    • Why a young male boss didn't like her response to something he said (and what happened)
    • How getting older means getting more unfiltered when you're a woman

This episode has a moderate to high F-Bomb Factor.

And tune-in to future episodes with Desiree and her friends.

  • Interlude - Where did I go
The podcast has been a dream of mine for a while. But as many of you know, life gets in the way of doing things you want to do. There are bills to pay, kids to feed, spouses that need a little extra love through their own tough times.  After a summer of a pandemic, kids home from school, total job chaos, and plenty of quiet nights I knew it was time to revive this baby of mine.

I hope it inspires you and brings you as much joy as I have during these conversations.
