For Blacks, February is the month to honor Blacks among us and those who left us, the heroes so to speak.

Today, we begin the series of "The illusion of progress" touted by Blacks, repeated by Whites, especially those

who want to keep things the way it's always been.

It's a win-win situation for both parties.

It's a new year. February is only the second month; today is just the fifth day of the month.

There is plenty of time to look back at the past four chaotic years the country has gone through.

The pandemic is still making ways through our lives, causing deaths to many. There is no lack of hope. 

As of this publication, there are at least five pharmaceuticals which already have a vaccine and a few more

are just around the corner.

It's a new year and something is new.

We now have a new president. It's POTUS46. The name is Joe Biden; he is 78 years old, the oldest individual elected to the presidency of the United States. But don't let the age fool you. Biden is every bit in tune with the issues facing the left, the right, the young, the old, the rich, the poor, the disaffected, the left behind and the left out. He is working on all fronts to address every issue but it is a steep climb.

The opposition is fierce and almost impossible to reason with. The belief on conspiracy theories by those who oppose him is unprecedented. Although it is said and believed that the good always. The fight Mr. Biden is engaged is literally a fight between good and evil. There is no way to know for sure which side will win, or whether there is a win at all.

The outcome of this fight will however forever impact the nation.

It's a new year and something is new.

This episode was created the day before the inauguration of a new president. The country was joyful and anxious.

The president-elect awaited patiently for the departure of his predecessor, an event which will occur on the same day of his inauguration. 

For the first time in 250 years, the United States will attend to the ceremony of a new president absent of the transfer of power aspect of the ceremony. The norm is broken. The United States is in decadence. But Joe Biden is determined to revive the spirit of patriotism through unity.

Here, we look at whether it is just a dream or there is reason to be hopeful.

It's a new year and something is new.

It's becoming increasingly clear even to a blind man that Donald Trump will have to vacate the Oval Office.

But what should trouble America is the fact that most Republicans (147 Congressmen and a dozen Senators) subscribe to behaviors and actions that are blatantly unpatriotic at best, truly treasonous.

The road to remedy America's problem is not with the departure of Trump but with expelling most Republicans who took part in the sedition to overturn our government. Anything less would make the idea of democracy in America a joke.

On January 6 2021, which is in the first week in the new year, the country was thrusted unto the world stage for the worst possible reason. A mob of rioters, supporters of Donald Trump, descended to Washington to prevent the process of elections certification from happening.

They stormed the nation capitol, vandalized and destroyed offices; they left behind several injured and five dead in addition to other forms of damage inflicted in the nation.

The United States could have never imagined an individual with no political experience, and so much deference to America No 1 enemy could be admired by millions in a political Party which has always claimed to be Patriots.

Can that even be the beginning of the end of America's democracy?

Today, lawmakers ask for Trump to be removed from office. There are just 13 days left to his presidency

Welcome to 2021

It's a new year, it is also a new day. Not much has changed but plenty have.

The country - the world even - is looking towards that faithful January 20 when the Oval Office is occupied by a decent, caring individual.

There is no better gift to receive during theses holidays

the Elections Are Over - Donald Trump has yet to concede. 

It's getting ridiculous, really. 

Republicans tolerate Trump's chipping at our democracy while taking advantage of naive and gullible people who continue to believe he could keep the Oval Office.

He CANNOT.

There is ZERO possibility for that to happen, and yet millions of Republicans continue to pour money into Trump's coffer for the improbable outcome of staying president. The damage that's inflicted in our system of democracy is not easily reversible.

Added to Trump's nefarious actions, callous politicians and indifferent business leaders have rushed in to cash in on the ignorance of those who continue to support an effort which will be 100% fruitless.

It is really getting ridiculous.

We owe the survival of our democracy to Democrats, a small group of Republicans as well as the Court system which has not succumbed to political pressure. 

The Elections are over but...

Donald Trump has yet to concede. Trump believes he has enough tricks he accumulated in his lifetime to con America a second time.

He was not wrong; he could have, had it not been the vigilance of a majority who stood up for our democracy

The Republican Party comprises leaders and supporters who see no qualm to the idea of overturning the results of the elections. As such, GOP Legislators work aggressively to undermine the Elections systems while the Republican supporters took to the streets to demand a reversal of the outcome of the elections. All in all, Republicans are okay doing away with the Constitution of the United States.

We owe the survival of our democracy to Democrats, a small group of Republicans as well as the Court system which has not succumbed to political pressure.  A crushing blow delivered by the Supreme Court to the ridiculous effort put an end to any hope of another successful con.
