This week’s 5-Minute-Review game is The Stanley Parable, by indie developer/publisher Galactic Cafe. Originally a mod of Half Life 2, The Stanley Parable was eventually redeveloped into it's own title, expanding the experience. The game is a first-person exploration "choice simulator" of sorts, featuring multiple endings. While there isn't any combat or action sequenced gameplay, there are interactive moments during exploration and the entire experience is narrated with humorous commentary. It currently costs around $3.00 on G2A.com and is on sale on Steam for the duration of their summer sale special.

The Main Quest - our weekly discussion and main topic - delves into the world of indie gaming and development. Indie games are difficult to define, but many consider any game that is both developed and self-published by a non-AAA studio could be labled an indie game. Sadly, the indie scene in gaming is in a sour state due to developers' lack of accountability. Learn more in our episode this week.

This week’s 5-Minute-Review game is Dishonored, by Bethesda. Dishonored follows the story of Corvo, royal protector to an empress in a fictional world with a steam punk / industrial revolution-esque setting. When the empress is murdered, Corvo is framed. However, he escapes imprisonment and is given special powers from a mysterious being called The Outsider. Will you, playing as Corvo, choose to take revenge on the conspirators or bring a more peaceful justice to the world? (Parental advisory: this game is rated M for Mature.)

The Main Quest - our weekly discussion and main topic - explores the biggest gaming event of the year: the Electronic Entertainment Expo, aka E3. Every year, the gaming world watches with anticipation (or disdain) to see what video game publishers and developers will announce. Grand reveals of new IPs, sequels to beloved titles, or new consoles and systems - it's the biggest week of gaming news by far. Today, Slow Day Radio examines some of the possible announcements and discusses what we would like to see from E3, whether it be this year or those to come.
