CG and I discuss house sitting during the winter in Ucluelet on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.  Ucluelet is a small town off the beaten path along the Pacific coastline where we spent Jan-April enjoying some of the most magnificent coastal country we've ever encountered. We have great memories of storm watching, whale watching, and exploring the tidal pools.  Ucluelet is grey, wet, and uncrowded in the winter, and a beautiful place to be.

CG and I are house sitting for the summer in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so we thought we would discuss some of the experiences we have had visiting the park through the years, plus share a few facts about the Smokies. CG and I need to figure out where we'll travel and live this fall and winter. We are currently house sitting, but our housesitting assignment will end in 4 to 6 weeks (if not sooner!). Traveling slow often provides the best advantage for finding longer-term travel deals, but to take advantage of those deals, one has to often plan ahead, and in the current climate of travel uncertainty, making longer term travel plans is a bit risky.  This travel podcast episode is basically CG and I talking aloud about our potential options for the coming 6 months.
