After the death of Queen Elizabeth the II and an end to her 73-year reign, Kate and Katie went a little royal with this week's episode and discussed 2001's "The Princess Diaries." Listen in as they dissect the deeper meanings of the movie, dish on the actors who got their start in it (Anne Hathaway, we love you, girl!), and lust over Mia Thermopolous' San Francisco firehouse loft. They also cover Katie's thoughts on the new "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" series -- which has nothing to do with Neil Gaiman -- and provide two public service announcements: Harry Styles did NOT spit on Chris Pine at the Venice screening of "Don't Worry Darling," and Heather Matarazzo the actor is NOT related to Gaten Matarazzo from "Stranger Things."

Picture it, cinemas, 2007: "Rush Hour 3" has just released, "Superbad" is just a week away, and "The Simpsons Movie" and "Bourne Ultimatum" drawing viewers in during their third and second weeks playing. A little-noticed fantasy movie based on a Neil Gaiman novel called "Stardust" gets lost in the summer movie shuffle -- but hasn't lost its luster to the small but passionate fans who still watch it today. Katie and Kate discuss the film's comfort-movie status, draw parallels between Robert De Niro's Captain Shakespeare and "Our Flag Means Death," giggle at babies Charlie Cox and Henry Cavill, and lose the plot completely in favor of other topics like Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball, censored viewings of "The Tudors," and whether George RR Martin will ever write those last two books (spoiler: he won't, no matter how much Kate challenges him). 

And no, this episode is not about the 2020 David Bowie biopic that wasn't allowed to include any David Bowie music.
