In this episode we talk with Marci daCamara, LMHC, the Director of Be Inspired Counseling, a group mental health practice with locations in Stoughton and Mansfield. Marci shares her perspective on parenting teens today and some of the hopes and concerns that parents that parents deal with. Marci shares some parenting tips and skills, what is typical for teens and tweens and when to think about reaching out for help.

Get all the science about alcohol and the teen brain from Dr. Jason Kilmer who has an incredible gift for translating data and studies into info parents can use and he is pretty darn funny too! Dr. Kilmer is an Associate Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington. He is many years of experience in the prevention field both as a researcher and providing direct support to college sstudents. Hear Dr. Kilmer talk about: the links between alchol use, depression and suicide, the importance of talking to youth about underage drinking, and focusing on positive norms (i.e. most middle and high school students do not drink alcohol) and lots more!
