Sunday, May 21, 2023 – Today's message is "Small Beginnings – Big Endings." We're talking about the parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast given in Matthew 13:31-33. Both parables give good encouragement and stern warnings. What begins small and unseen in a person's heart, if nurtured and guarded, grows into a visible and powerful force in the visible Kingdom of God. However, if not adequately protected and pointed in the right direction, what happens in the small things in the beginning stages can result in a poor ending far from the original target. The "birds of the air" that perch and nest in the branches of the large mustard plant can steal the truth of God's Word. We must guard our hearts and our lives, including our churches so that we don't allow the compromised, twisted versions of false teachings to take us off course if we want our endpoint to be Holy and pleasing to God.
