Welcome to this week's episode, where we dive into the question: What do you do in a crisis? This week, I experienced some intense moments, but I found comfort in knowing that God was with me through it all. My husband Earl and I have been married for just five weeks, and we faced our first real test together. Despite the uncertainty, we supported each other with grace and patience. 

Join me as I share the two challenges we encountered this past week and how we leaned on our faith to get through them. Our key scriptures for this episode are primarily from the Book of Job, a story that resonates deeply when facing trials:

- Job 23:10: "He knows the way I take."
- Psalm 142:3: "When my spirit grows faint within me, it is You who knows my way."
- Job 1:21: "The Lord gave and the Lord takes away. The name of the Lord will be praised."
- Job 13:15: "Though He slay me, yet I will hope in Him."

As I share my journey of being married for just five weeks, here are three key learnings that have kept us going:

1. Expect to be refined. God is working through our trials to transform us.
2. Praise God, no matter what. Worship and praise Him through the storm.
3. Renew your hope. Each day is a new beginning with new mercies.

As we embark on this journey, we're reminded of the omnipresence of Jesus in our lives, encapsulated beautifully in Acts 17:28. He is not merely a distant figure but the very essence of our existence, guiding us through every moment. 

In this powerful episode, we delve into the profound significance of Jesus as the central figure in both the early rains and latter rains of our lives. Drawing from Acts 17:28 and James 5:7, we uncover the divine connection between our existence and the continuous outpouring of blessings from our Savior.  

Imagine waking up every day knowing that you're not alone, but rather enveloped by the presence of Jesus, your constant companion and helper in every situation. From the smallest inconveniences to the greatest challenges, He is there, working miracles in the midst of our ordinary lives.

As we reflect on our experiences, we're reminded that our time spent in communion with Jesus, especially in the secret place, is indispensable. It's in these intimate moments that we find growth, peace, and a deepening of our relationship with Him.

But it doesn't end there. Just as the farmers eagerly anticipate the rains for their harvest, we too eagerly await the latter day showers of blessing. These showers come in various forms – from precious moments with loved ones to unexpected acts of kindness – each contributing to the abundant harvest in God's Kingdom.

It’s been 21 days since I walked down the aisle and said "I do" to Earl, and let me tell you, these first weeks of marriage have been nothing short of a beautiful whirlwind. 🌪️

As I stand on the brink of saying "I DO!" tomorrow, I find solace and guidance in Psalm 23. In the midst of wedding plans and nerves, I've discovered a secret to being guided by God. I immerse myself in this passage, finding peace in its words. With each read, I'm reminded to find my peace, envision the Secret Place with God, hold everything lightly, and rely on my support system. Psalm 23 reassures me that God is my shepherd, providing all I need, leading me to tranquility, renewing my strength, and comforting me in the darkest times. Tomorrow, as I embark on this new journey, I carry these words with me, knowing that God's goodness and love will pursue me always. Amen.

Galatians 5:22-25 reminds us of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, guiding us towards love, joy, and peace. This week, I've focused on centering my life on Jesus as I prepare for my wedding with Earl.

1. Centering on Jesus: Letting the Spirit lead in every aspect of our lives has been crucial. Our theme: simply elegant, in every decision.

2. Embracing Spontaneity: Enjoying precious moments with loved ones, like a spontaneous zoo day with the grandkids, has brought unexpected joy.

3. Letting Go & Prioritizing: Releasing control over tasks like house cleaning, making more time for Jesus, and self-care have been priorities.

4. Meaningful Traditions: From baking pound cakes to remembering cherished memories, it's the simple, heartfelt touches that matter most.

5. Lessons Learned: Simple is better than extravagant, and allowing nature's beauty to shine can be enough.

6. Enjoying the Process: Slowing down and embracing God's presence has brought a deeper appreciation for this special week.

7. Seeking Help & Prayer: Acknowledging challenges, like uncomfortable earrings, and turning to prayer with Earl has realigned us with God's purpose and glory.

Hey there, beloved!

Welcome to Small Beginnings with Sara, where we dive into all things faith, life, and filling our lamps with oil. Have you ever thought about the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25? It's a powerful reminder that we need to keep our lamps filled with oil, ready for when the bridegroom returns. So, here's the question: Are you asking God how to fill your lamp with His oil?

I know, I'm just scratching the surface of what God wants to reveal to us, but let's ponder on this together today, shall we?

So here's my prayer for us: May we live each day, empowered by the presence of God within us. We're not alone, my friend. God is right here, living inside of us, every moment. And that changes everything, doesn't it?

Let's learn together how to tap into that divine presence, how to let our lights shine brightly in this world. Because trust me, beautiful one, there's nothing more beautiful than a life filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit, shining brightly in the darkness.

1. Keep my eyes on Jesus: Amidst the chaos, I anchor myself in faith, finding strength and peace in His presence.

2. Sit on the park bench with Jesus: I carve out moments to pause, reflect, and connect with the divine amidst the busyness.

3. Let go of control and let God be God: Surrendering my need for control, I find freedom in trusting God's plan for me.

4. Who are you trying to please? Man or God?: I confront the tendency to prioritize others' expectations over divine guidance, realigning my focus on pleasing God above all else.

5. Heart connection with God, trusting Him in each moment: Through cultivating a deep, heart-to-heart connection with God, I navigate each moment with trust and surrender.

Drawing inspiration from Proverbs 21:21 and Isaiah 43:18-19, I invite you to join me on this journey of faith, resilience, and growth. Together, let's find beauty and purpose in life's small beginnings, even amidst the whirlwind.
