April 14, 2018Small Screen's Film Club - Brigsby Bear (Live at the Genesis Cinema)Hello and welcome to a very special episode of Small Screen's Film Club. Alessia and I spent some time thinking how could we get to turn what is essentially a recorded film discussion group which just involves ourselves into a fully fledged film club with many people expressing their views on a particular film. The answer was simple, organise a live screening of a movie. Thankfully, the Genesis Cinema very kindly agreed to let us host our very first live event at their wonderful cinema in Whitechapel in East London. The film we decided to show was Brigsby Bear which Kyle Mooney both wrote and starred in. A big thank you goes out to Genesis Cinema for helping us with this event, and London Fields Radio for giving us a platform on which to do our show. On this week’s episode, Alessia and I discuss Sebastián Lelio's A Fantastic Woman, which won the Oscar for the best foreign film at the Oscars. Daniela Vega is the led in this beautiful and tragic movie, but is her performance alone enough to warrant the Oscar win, or is the film as fantastic as the critics have led us to believe? Listen to find out. Please, enjoy. A big thank you goes out to London Fields Radio for letting us record out show at the Wilton Way Cafe. Don’t forget to read, like and follow Small Screen!
