Mayor Eric Adams rolled out his Green Economy Action Plan, which sounded promising for students and career changers looking to get into a career where you can make an impact, and you don't necessarily need to have a 4 year bachelor's degree to get in to some of these well-paid positions. We will go through the basics of what Mayor Adams was saying about jobs for the upcoming years here in NYC: what are the jobs, how to train for them, and who is hiring. In other episodes, I will give you contact information about which schools have which programs, training, etc. For now, let's take a broad glimpse into what plans the Mayor laid out in his press release yesterday, February 28, 2024.

This episode will lay out the main reasons for the podcast: namely, to shed light on the vast internet world of career choices and career planning choices when it comes to choosing a career field and what to study, based on the newest information out there about the job market in 2024 and beyond. This podcast is developed with the idea of helping students, military veterans--because I'm a vet--and career transitioners sift through endless info on the internet related to choosing a valuable career field, paying for college, and utilizing workforce training programs.

This is an explanation of what my new blog and podcast “Hot Next Gen Careers”, will do: explore careers and jobs that will be hot and trending for the next 25 years: what are these jobs, where are they, and how you can get into these fields?  Chat GPT gave me a list of up and coming jobs that will be popular in the next 25 years–I like to call it 25 in 25– that will be created through the advancement of AI, climate and urban planning issues, new scientific research, changes in medicine, etc.  I take a deep dive into these careers in order to break down the info into manageable parts that you can apply to your life, major at school and/or career progression.
