  • Ep74: The Magic Of Thinking Big (A Quick Refresher)

We've discussed this before here, but The Magic Of Thinking Big has remained one of my favorite books over the years. Dr David Schwartz wrote it back in 1959 and it's more important today than ever. We encounter so many distractions, so many things pulling us in every direction... and this book has helped keep me grounded and focused for many moons now. It's also available on audio, but I prefer to keep a copy on my desk - it's dog-eared appearance reminds me of how useful it has been and what a great reference it will always be now and in the future. Just an amazing book and had to re-share. Love all y'all!

  • Ep 73: He (Or She) Is Rich Who Owns The Day!

He - or she, of course - is rich who owns the day. A great quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American philosopher, poet, and all-around champion of the people back in the 1800's. This is just a singular quote taken from one of his essays, but let's think about it for a second. Yes, "own your day". Be the boss of it, not the other way around. Carpe diem right? Don't let yesterday interfere with the new day ahead of us, nor let (potantial) future issues weigh us down either. As Mr. Emerson also says "This day is too dear, with its' hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays". Let's live in the moment and enjoy this very moment. Love all y'all!

  • Ep70: Something Completely Different: Let's Take A Walk!

Let's change our outlook on life by tweaking things a bit: taking walks, biking, better eating habits, that sort of thing. Nothing drastic just simple easy changes. Lord knows, I'm no doctor (maybe a doctor of love but that's another story) but I needed to slightly alter things and get my bad self back. Ya know? I think you do. Anyhoo, every now and again, I'm going to throw an episode like this out there. Our theme here on SMFRThePodcast has always been living our best life and making the best of every day, and hopefully stuff like this works for you as it does for me. So every few episodes let's see how it's working, ok? Love all y'all!

  • Ep69: We've Come Too Far (To Stop Now)!

We may be exhausted, feeling overwhelmed, and we may question EVERYTHING, but we can’t let these feelings take us down. We’ve come to far to stop now haven't we? There's an IG account titled "mentalstrengthproject" and it's blunt and to the point; I don’t know who it is but love the directness of the posts. Totally on point and this is a great example. Check it out if you'd like, and remember the old saying "they can beat you but they can't eat you". Come to think of it, they can't beat us either. We are all winners so let's gooooo! Love all y'all!

  • Ep68: Memories Can Guide Us (A Tribute To Bill)

Memories of friends and family can guide us or at the very least make us smile... those with us and those no longer here but always in our hearts. Do you have someone who's always popping into your mind? I sure do. Bill had such an impact on so many people, and though he's gone, he's still with us every day. Does that make sense? You betcha. So let's embrace memories of those we love - whether they're still in our mortal lives or they've passed. These awesome memories fill our hearts and there's no room for anxiety or ill thoughts when we allow such love inside. Which reminds me that hey, I love all y'all!

  • Ep67: Don't (Freaking) Give Up!

No matter what life throws at us, if we have a plan we believe in - don't give up! When nobody's cheering you on, when the haters come out, when no one gives a flip about you or your goals... screw it. Hey y'all know I've had my issues - still do - but these l'il podcasts and YT shorts remind me to keep going, continue to build character, and plow through. The end goal is worth it. Our happiness, knowing in our hearts that we did our best; all that and more. Wow, I love all y'all!

  • EP66: Let's Get Our Swagger Back!

Let's get our swagger back - for real ok? Perhaps it was COVID, perhaps it was the crazy political circus or media overload... whatever happened, many of us lost our self-confidence and our swagger, so to speak. I know I did at times, and had to train my little gray cells (as Poirot would say) to tune out the garbage and get on with living my best life. I hope this short reminder helps you  - even in a small way - get back to being yourself and kicking some tail as the confident, awesome person that I know you are my friend. Love all y'all!

  • EP65: What, Me Worry? Not Ol' WIllie Nelson!

What, me worry? What good does it accomplish? The esteemed songwriter (and kind-of philosopher WIllie Nelson believes it can make us sick both mentally and physically. There's a lot of truth to that, so as we go through our day, let's keep that in mind; if we can change things for ourselves for the better let's do it by all means. But if we cannot and are making ourselves sick with worry... well, why? It does not good. As always these little reminders help me as I record them, and hopefully give you pause for thought as well. Thanks much for liking, subscribing, etc and don'tcha know I love all y'all!
