Smile 2 Movie Review | Bigger, But Not Better?
Welcome back to Zach Pope Reviews! Today, I’m diving into my thoughts on Smile 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 psychological horror hit Smile. Directed and written by Parker Finn, Smile 2 brings us a fresh story with Naomi Scott starring as a pop singer on the verge of a major tour—only to find herself haunted by a series of terrifying and disturbing events. With returning cast members like Kyle Gallner and a strong ensemble that includes Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, and Ray Nicholson, does Smile 2 live up to its predecessor?
In this review, I’ll explore how Smile 2 attempts to go bigger than the original with more intense scares, but does it capture the same psychological dread? While there’s fun to be had, I found myself wanting more from this sequel. Despite its solid effort, the film falls short of the first movie’s tension, leaving me feeling a tad disappointed by the end.
Watch my full thoughts on whether Smile 2 succeeds in delivering the spine-tingling horror fans loved in the original, or if it misses the mark.
