I first encountered Nia at the Green Haven Project, (my apologies for the name mix-up David, shame on me!). Nia's passion for her craft was evident as she selflessly provided free haircuts, making everyone who sat in her chair feel good about themselves.

As I continued to see Nia at various events with Black Men Build, her commitment to serving the community became even more apparent. Whether it was kids, the elderly, or the homeless, Nia never hesitated to donate her time and expertise to uplift those in need.

Beyond her skills as a barber and stylist, I discovered that Nia is a multi-talented artist. We delved into her other creative pursuits, including painting, photography, and jewelry making. Her diverse range of talents was truly awe-inspiring. We also discussed an exciting event she's helping to organize for 5th graders, where they'll learn photography and showcase their artwork in a real museum. It's a fantastic opportunity for these young artists to express themselves and gain recognition for their talents.

Nia's warmth and genuine kindness shine through in every interaction. She is a treasure, and I believe her story will inspire many. Personally, I'm thrilled to see more female barbers making their mark in the industry. Nia's passion for empowering others through her art and craft is something to be admired.
