Whenever the conversation of using content marketing takes place, it generally occurs within the context of online marketing. It is rarely used within the career change space.
One of the reasons for this is the understanding and usage of the definition of content marketing.
Content marketing is generally associated with the digital world.
However, when content marketing is looked at as any content posted in a public setting whether as an image, audio, video and/or text files, it changes the conversation.
One has to now care about what they post because it could be used against or for them.
The path from failure to success is sometimes over-reported. The missing part is the story of how failure can be seen as Success Wrapped In Overalls.change their careers so often.
When I envision someone in overalls, I'm seeing a blue-collar worker working in a factory environment. The most image that readily comes to my mind is that of a car assembly workers clothed in a specialized jumpsuit or overalls. They are committed to getting a job done, which for them is a measurement of success.
Along the way, they experience both positive and negative experiences. The negative experiences could be seen as failures. But because they are committed to a mission of completing these cars, they learn from these experiences and forge ahead to create a finished product. These people are working change their careers so often.
Each negative experience becomes a learning rather than a failing experience. These people work hard at going after the end result.
So it is with yours and my setbacks that could derail us if we let it.
In this episode, I share how many times we miss or may miss a much-needed piece of our entrepreneur success journey because we fail to see our failure as success wrapped in overalls.
Most times the conversation around changing career is based upon a job change.
When that happens, very rarely is there a conversation about personal branding. It's as if these two ideas are totally independent of each other. This may explain why people change their careers so often.
In this episode, I share 11 Personal Branding Attributes that are explicitly linked to a Career Change especially when that change is entrepreneurial in nature.
There are so many people who have business ideas that would enable them to work from home, but are not sure how to go about getting it started. They either lack the resources or the skills in making it happen..
On the other hand, there are those who are interested in the idea of doing work from home but are having a hard time coming up with what would constitute a work from home business.
In this episode, I share 9 Business Ideas that could be done as a work from home business. You will hear examples of people who have done so and different ways you can do the same.
What is Content Marketing?
First from Dictionary dot com:
a type of marketing that involves the creation and sharing of online material (such as videos, blogs, and social media posts) that does not explicitly promote a brand but is intended to stimulate interest in its products or services.
Second, from Content Marketing Institute dot com:
Content Marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.
In this episode, you will hear why I think Content Marketing can be a game changer for changing careers.
One of the many excuses people normally give for not doing something is that they don't have the time.
However, I find that we make time for that which we think is important to us.
Making time to earn money doing what we love, would fit within this making-time category.
In this episode, our guest - Tracey Minutolo - shares her insight on how to earn money as a side hustle doing what you love.
You will hear her talk about how to make time work for you rather than against you. One of the main points she stated was to assign a job to blocks of time.
Somehow, on the surface, it would seem that making a career change and content marketing techniques are not a fit. What does content marketing techniques and branding have to with this idea of a smooth career change?
If you are having this thought, it is understandable. It shows that you are very astute and a critical thinker. This is one of the objections or push back that was anticipated and was quickly acknowledge and addressed in this episode.
What you'll find within the episode is that content marketing is something that you do on a daily basis without realizing you are, which in turn feeds into branding.
Making money online is one of those here-we-go-again kind of reaction that some people have. There have been so many people making promises of how we can make money online that we rarely stop to pay attention to one more article.
You might be having that kind of reaction the moment you see the headline for this show-note. If so, I understand but I want you to listen to this podcast episode because of the uniqueness of the approach.
In this episode you'll hear our guest - Kate Volman - share some creative ways that we could make money online on the side.
Have you ever shied away from the word expert when used in the context of what you do? Have you ever wondered why you do so?
Many of the people that I know who are qualified to be an expert in their field, would raise their hand to the question I posed above.
In asking them about why they do so, their answer(s) has to do with lack of confidence, insecurity, not knowing enough and even including not knowing everything.
These are just a few of the reasons given.
In this episode, you will discover why you are an expert and how to embrace the idea. You will hear 7 reasons that will challenge your initial thoughts.
