Snakebird Podcast

The Holidays. To some, this season is everything they've ever wanted. To others, not so much. Join us as we both address a common and relatable form of depression that affects so many during this colder and often less-sunny season and offer some biblical suggestions for hope when we're faced with anxiety.

Echo Chamber: an environment in which a person encounters only beliefs that coincide with their own, so that their existing views are reinforced and alternative ideas are not considered.

Whether we'd like to acknowledge it or not, chances are we've all been in an echo chamber (social media, news, friends). In this episode, we address the dangers that presents and also solutions for breaking out of the go-with-the-crowd influence.

Part 1 of 5 - The adventure begins...

She's got a funny name, a huge heart, and quite a tale to tell, albeit very short. In this profile, we take a look at Tabitha/Dorcas, a New Testament saint who served people for her whole life, and then some more. Follow along as we bring color and commentary to her unique story, and lay out why she is a character in the bible to pattern our lives after.

It's really hard not to make this description punny - so we're not going to fight it and just embrace the puns. Join us as we dive deep into this whale of a tale about a unwilling prophet named Jonah who heard a call from God and decided he wasn't up for the task. Follow along as we go overboard analyzing his struggle, attempting to swallow the application and let it all sink in. But seriously, there's a lot here, we hope you listen and enjoy!

As Snakebirds we strive to strike a balance in wisdom and gentleness. We also strive to keep a balance between walking neither in rigid unrighteous legalism or unchecked liberty - but right in the center seeking to please God. In this episode we address habits or vices like smoking, drinking, coffee, and all kinds of things that, in some way, it's likely we've picked up one or another as we've walked the road of life. Journey with us in this powerful two-part series as we take a real and honest look at these things and ask "are these things sin" and "when does my partaking in this activity become a sin?"
