We finish our shallow dive into the resurrection and ultimate destruction of Extreme Championship Wrestling with perhaps the worst wrestling PPV we have ever reviewed. WWE did what they were always going to do with ECW- turn it into a watered down shell of its former self filled with bad gimmicks and flaccid wrestling. WWECW was never going to work. How could it? There's a reason Gigi Allin never did The Tonight Show.

With One Night Stand 2005 being such a huge success, WWE decided to run it back in 2006 to kick off the resurrection of the brand full time. One Night Stand 2006 featured many of the mainstays that we are used to, but WWE's sticky fingers and corporate influence start to show their ugly hands. The nerds in the crowd are hot, Beulah gets assaulted, and Terry Funk is just the best. Join us! 

ECW captured the hearts and minds of thousands of degenerates in the short time that it existed. In 2005, on the back of the Rise and Fall of ECW documentary, WWE decided to let the freakshow have a swan song. The evening ended up being everything an ECW fan could have asked for. There was fire, chanting, concussions, cheese graters, and Eric Bischofff laying motionless in the center of the ring. This may not have actually ended up being the last show ECW ever did, but maybe it should have been?

Holy cow. We made it. Fifty numbered episodes of Snark Marks. There has been twists, turns, Bret Michaelses, Jannettys, and so much more for half a century of installments, and we are still having just as much fun as when we started. Dusty and Andrew know the exact date they watched their first wrestling show together. On April 6, 2014, the boys convened to watch Wrestlemania 30 at Dusty's house. Dusty made Andrew promise to allow him to pay attention and Andrew sat down with his chicken supreme and behaved like a good boy. Neither knew that it would eventually turn into the best doggone wrestling podcast two thirty-somethings named Andrew and Dusty who worked at a bank in California together for seven or so years have ever produced. What a moment.

ECW was, in a word, extreme. Beers, blood, New Jack, women getting 3D'd... it was madness from bell to bell. Paul Heyman had a vision and refused to waver, but ultimately that may have cost him his dream. Andrew and Dusty watched The Rise and Fall of ECW on Peacock and got together to discuss.

Also discussed is the first six inductees to the Idell Wrestling Federation Outcast Hall of Fame. Yes, Disco Inferno made it.

The future of the wrestling industry is at stake. Actually it is clearly not at stake and everybody knows how this is going to end, they just want it to be quick. The Invasion storyline had not worked out the way WWF intended, and it was determined that it could not make it all the way to Wrestlemania five months later. This may have been the only good decision they had made since buying WCW. Join us as we eulogize the Invasion angle after our obligatory 12 minutes of Simpsons talks off the top.

Dusty and a very hungover Andrew continue to discuss what went wrong with WWF's Invasion angle in 2001. At No Mercy, the WWF finally seems to be coming to terms with the fact that they need to stop trying to make WCW happen. The WCW title is being contested by two WWF wrestlers, and the WWF title is up for grabs in a triple threat that will definitely be won by a WWF talent. When it comes to late 19990s-early 2000s WWF, the Invasion Angle is peak flaccidity.

The boys watched Wrestlemania 38 and are so jacked up on nostalgia and joy that they had to get together to talk about it. Stone Cold Steve Austiin came back and did everything you wanted him to, Vince McMahon took the best worst stunner in the history of wrestling, and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn ruled the weekend. Also apparently there were some title matches.

September 23, 2001. 12 days after the world changed forever, WWF was in the midst of an underwhelming storyline that even an Olympic hero winning the title 12 days after 9/11 couldn't resolve. Kurt Angle takes on Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event, but not before a truly talented roster shows you what great wrestlers can do with bad booking. Also, KroniK is there for some reason.
