Sl: Matej in Nina stopata ob jezeru Bled.
En: Matej and Nina are walking by Lake Bled.

Sl: Sneži, na tleh škripa pod nogami.
En: It's snowing, and the ground crunches beneath their feet.

Sl: Pokrajina je v zimski čarovniji.
En: The landscape is wrapped in winter magic.

Sl: Sneg pokriva tla, veje dreves so obdane v belo preobleko, v daljavi pa je skozi meglico vidna cerkvica na otoku.
En: Snow covers the ground, tree branches are draped in a white cloak, and in the distance, through the mist, the little church on the island is visible.

Sl: V zraku je mir in hladen zimski zrak ju osveži.
En: The air is still, and the cool winter air refreshes them.

Sl: Nina govori o njunih načrtih. O potovanjih v oddaljene kraje, raziskovanju sveta.
En: Nina talks about their plans, about traveling to distant places, exploring the world.

Sl: Vedno je bila pustolovska duša.
En: She has always been an adventurous soul.

Sl: Matej pa jo posluša, a misli mu begajo.
En: Matej listens to her, but his mind is wandering.

Sl: Nosil je skrivnost, ki ga je težila.
En: He carries a secret that weighs heavily on him.

Sl: "Matej, kaj misliš?" ga vpraša Nina ter se obrne proti njemu.
En: "Matej, what do you think?" Nina asks, turning to him.

Sl: Njen obraz je radoveden, pričakuje njegovo mnenje in soglasje.
En: Her face is curious, expecting his opinion and agreement.

Sl: Matej se ustavi.
En: Matej stops.

Sl: Gleda v jezero, kjer se sanke odsevajo na mehkih valovih.
En: He looks at the lake, where sled reflections shimmer on the gentle waves.

Sl: Vdihne globoko.
En: He takes a deep breath.

Sl: Zbere pogum.
En: He gathers courage.

Sl: "Nina," začel je počasi, "moram ti nekaj povedati."
En: "Nina," he begins slowly, "I have something to tell you."

Sl: Nina prikima.
En: Nina nods.

Sl: "Povej, Matej."
En: "Tell me, Matej."

Sl: "Prejel sem ponudbo za delo. V tujini," prizna Matej.
En: "I've received a job offer. Abroad," Matej admits.

Sl: Njegov glas je mehak.
En: His voice is soft.

Sl: Ve, da zadržuje dih.
En: He knows he's holding his breath.

Sl: Nina ga nekaj trenutkov gleda brez besed.
En: Nina looks at him for a few moments without speaking.

Sl: "Kje?"
En: "Where?"

Sl: "V Kanadi. Na pol leta," razkrije Matej.
En: "In Canada. For six months," Matej reveals.

Sl: Njegov pogled je napet, se ne more osredotočiti nikjer drugje kot na njene oči.
En: His gaze is tense, unable to focus on anything but her eyes.

Sl: Nina pogleda stran, čez jezero.
En: Nina looks away, across the lake.

Sl: "Kaj pa naši načrti?" njeno vprašanje je mehko, a polno čustev.
En: "What about our plans?" her question is soft but full of emotion.

Sl: Matej pogleda nazaj proti vodi, nato spet proti Nini.
En: Matej looks back at the water, then again at Nina.

Sl: "Ne vem, kako ti povedati.
En: "I don't know how to tell you.

Sl: Hotel sem ti prej povedati, a nisem znal.
En: I wanted to tell you earlier, but I didn't know how.

Sl: Bojim se, da te izgubim," reče iskreno.
En: I'm afraid of losing you," he says sincerely.

Sl: Nina se obrne nazaj k njemu, oči so ji tople.
En: Nina turns back to him, her eyes warm.

Sl: "Matej, ne bi smel skrivati tega pred mano.
En: "Matej, you shouldn't have hidden this from me.

Sl: Prijatelji si zaupamo.
En: Friends trust each other.

Sl: Razumem, zakaj.
En: I understand why.

Sl: Ampak moram vedeti."
En: But I need to know."

Sl: Matej s težavo prikima.
En: Matej nods with difficulty.

Sl: "Hočem to sprejeti, a nočem izgubiti tebe in naših sanj."
En: "I want to accept it, but I don't want to lose you and our dreams."

Sl: Pogovor jima teče počasi, z vsakim odkritim stavkom težo nekoliko lajšata.
En: Their conversation flows slowly, with each revealed sentence lightening the weight a little.

Sl: Nina ga nežno prime za roko.
En: Nina gently takes his hand.

Sl: "Matej, ti si moj prijatelj.
En: "Matej, you're my friend.

Sl: Podpiram te.
En: I support you.

Sl: In ko se vrneš, bova nadaljevala tam, kjer sva končala."
En: And when you return, we'll continue where we left off."

Sl: Matej se nasmehne z rahlim olajšanjem.
En: Matej smiles with a slight sense of relief.

Sl: "Hvala, Nina."
En: "Thank you, Nina."

Sl: Ob jezeru Bled snežinke še vedno nežno plešejo.
En: By Lake Bled, snowflakes still dance gently.

Sl: V tistem trenutku oba vesta: njihovo prijateljstvo je močno, zgrajeno na razumevanju in odkritosti.
