✨ Episode 2: so she CAN speak about international holiday celebrations. In today's episode, co-founders of so she CAN, Celine and Alysa, talk about how different countries all over the world celebrate Christmas, New Years', and other holidays! We believe it's super important to be educated about the world around you and hope that by listening to this episode, you learn new things about how your neighbor across the world celebrates! By learning new information about other cultures and people, we can all become more interconnected and understanding of each other! Thank you so much to so she CAN team members Kalash, Devasya, Nehir, Sobiah, and Quinn for sharing their personal experiences about the holidays in each country! Our writer Serlina said this about the holidays in Indonesia: Thanksgiving in Indonesia isn’t celebrated, and not much people are aware of it either, so there’s no “thanksgiving spirit” here unfortunately. As for Christmas, most people here celebrate by going to church then continue by doing family gatherings such as lunch/dinner. Christmas in Indonesia is celebrated, however not as big as in other places such as London/New York where there are Christmas trees and decorations everywhere you go since Indonesia is not a Christian-majority country. As far as it goes, there are trees and decorations put up in shopping malls.
