Our writer Serlina said this about the holidays in Indonesia: Thanksgiving in Indonesia isn’t celebrated, and not much people are aware of it either, so there’s no “thanksgiving spirit” here unfortunately. As for Christmas, most people here celebrate by going to church then continue by doing family gatherings such as lunch/dinner. Christmas in Indonesia is celebrated, however not as big as in other places such as London/New York where there are Christmas trees and decorations everywhere you go since Indonesia is not a Christian-majority country. As far as it goes, there are trees and decorations put up in shopping malls.
