So, What‘s the Problem? episodes

  • Bonus: Slickers (1985)
It's the lost episode! In September 2019, Jim from the Fallacious Trump podcast joined me to talk about the pilot to the failed Michael Richards/Dana Carvey sit-com, Slickers. The audio was messed up on my end so I re recorded bits, cut out certain lines and pulled my hair out getting this to you. As it's not great (you can tell when I re-recorded something), I decided to release it as a bonus episode because it's still a fun discussion. Enjoy!

  • Outtakes, Outtakes, Outtakes!
A collection of outtakes, bloopers and extended stuff from episodes past. Guests include, Tysto, Jen, JP, Martin, Owen, Alex and Nick. Marvel as I mess up an author's name by saying the wrong one, gasp as Jen and I talk about the War on Thanksgiving/Christmas and wonder just why I included me getting annoyed at my dog wandering about! Also includes Doctor Who talk, chatting about UK movie censorship and Jen's unique Christmas sweater. Enjoy! Contains strong language.

  • Suburban Beat (1985)
Tysto joins me to chat about the actually, surprisingly kind of fun "housewives solve crimes" show, Suburban Beat. With a great cast of recognisable stars and very 80s score, it's not an awful pilot. And Heather Langenkamp is the best. Contains a couple of f-bombs. By me, of course. End music "Suburban Beat theme by Mark Hoder.

  • Super Clyde (2013)
Jen from Pilot Inspectors joins me to chat about Super Clyde starring Rupert Grint and Stephen Fry.In a surprise twist for this podcast... Jen actually really likes this one! I, forever the contrarian, have issues with it. We talk about that, the cast and whether or not we'd be like Clyde in the show. It may sound like I talk for ages and not let Jen say anything but the truth is, she didn't really have anything to say about the first half of the pilot. I didn't edit anything she said out. Honest. Contains strong language.

  • Doctor Who (1996)
For the second anniversary of Drop the Pilot, Martin, Owen and myself delve, again, into the world of Doctor Who. This time, we talk about the TV movie that was intended to kickstart a new American series. We discuss all sorts of stuff and some of it even related to the pilot we watched.Shockingly, none of us hate it. It is what it is and Paul McGann is awesome. Contains strong language. Enjoy! End theme- Doctor Who main theme performed by Owen Ward on his guitar.

  • Dr. Paradise (1988)
Tysto joins me again to rant about the truly abysmal Dr. Paradise starring Frank Langella. You want to hear me get noticeably angry at a pilot? This is the episode for you. It's so bad, I almost asked Tysto if we can do something else but we persevered... then recorded something else after anyway, just in case (but released that first). This thing just does not know how to sitcom properly. Contains brief strong language. End credits music: Dr. Paradise theme by Kid Creole and the Coconuts.

  • Puppetman (1987)
Tysto joins me again to talk about Puppetman, created by Jim Henson and directed by Drop the Pilot alum Alan Rafkin. We recorded on short notice so I just read the synopsis off of the amazing Muppet Wiki site. Thanks to whoever wrote that, I forgot to say so in the episode. I only had an hour to prepare, so it's a tad more slapdash than usual. Enjoy! Note: My dog is deaf so when I tell him to go away and call him a pain in the arse, he can't hear me. No dog's feelings were harmed during the making of this podcast. Charlie's awesome.

  • Home Alone- Taking Back the House (2002)
Jen returns to talk to me about the baffling Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House. Why is it baffling? Because, this was actually a pilot! Yup. We ponder how, talk about the recasting and mildly disagree about one character in particular. Contains strong language. The podcast, not the movie.

  • Gremlins Commentary
As a bonus Christmas/Holiday "gift" to you, Tysto and I recorded a commentary for the classic 80s movie, Gremlins for his podcast. We talk about everything Gremlins, really as this is one of my personal favourites. A brand new Christmas themed episode will be out next week.

  • The Crystal Cube (1983)
Alex and Nick from the Release the Clowns Podcast join me for the first time to discuss a BBC pilot written by and starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. We discuss British comedy, the cast and ponder Hugh Laurie's American accent. It was a fun recording but there are slight audio issues because Skype wasn't playing ball. I have better Skype calls with people across the pond from me, but when they're in the same country... Contains mild language and the use of discriminatory language in the context of a show from the 1970s.
