So, where's falafel reeaaallly from? Oh, and Israel's mistreatment of Palestine

Listen Later

Before I give a brief introduction to this episode, I would like to give out a little disclaimer:

In case some of you listeners jump the gun, our criticism of Israel is towards the government and the state of Israel, not of the Israeli and Jewish people as a whole. I think that's a very important distinction to make and keep in mind before listening to this episode, as this topic is a very sensitive one for many people.

On this episode of the podcast, I'm again joined by the amazing Yasmine. For some context, Yasmine is from Egypt and I'm from Korea. Egypt has signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979 and have been economic allies ever since. As someone who've studied the region's conflicts as the best I could, with as much objectivity I could have, my opinions about the conclusion of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the aftermath are from a process of weighing atrocities done on both sides. We talk about our opinions of the inhumane treatment the people of Palestine are receiving under the Israeli state, and also discuss the obviously most important question: who was the OG creator of the oh so scrumptious and mouth watering falafel?

Enjoy!
