Waste of time if you actually want to make soap from scratch.
I'm disappointed in this book. I got the free Kindle edition and I don't recommend this to anyone. She talks a lot about how easy or hard it is to make certain types of soap, but there are no recipes for basic soap making. All of them call for purchasing glycerin soap base which is not necessary for making soap and every recipe has fragrances added and other ingredients. Glycerin is naturally occurring in soap from scratch so she's basically telling you how to melt down a ready-made base soap and add things to it. But to me that's not actually "soap making", It's soap altering.
Careful...
This isn't bad for a beginner, but there are some inconsistencies with what is really true. It alludes to the fact that you can use cold process soap right away. Absolutely not. You have a 4-6 week cure time. It also says that castor oil is a low suds oil. Again, not true. Castor is added by most major soapers that I know of to increase suds. This isn't a bad book, but it could use a re-editing by a super experienced soaper, and then it would be an good starter book for beginning soapers.

A good book with usable instruction. I was hoping for more really basic, beginner soaps.
Waste of time
Glad I didn't pay for this disaster.Very little if any useful information for beginners and rife with mispellings and typos. 5 star reviews likely paid reviews as this was a total waste of time.
Good Book
I enjoyed reading the book about soap making. Very good information provided. Would recommend this book to others who are interested in learning the craft.
