Valters Žeižis is an oceanographer from Riga, Latvia. Since childhood, Valters has been inspired by tales of explorers and the maps that symbolize their travels. Mapping was a required skill and key source of information throughout his study of geography, geology, and geomatics. He began officially mapping in GIS about ten years ago, but he fondly recalls the abstract and imaginary maps he dreamed up as a kid and likes to think his mapping truly began then.

You don't need to be an rich old dude to have fun and map on Soar. Join the Soar Cast was we interview Australian mapping prodigy, Aiden Holding of Perth, Western Australia. Aiden has an interesting story, he wanted to get into mapping with a his DJI Spark but was brushed off by the big mapping companies. When got the invitation to use Soar's drone mapping app, The Drone Mosaicing Toolset (in beta status) he said, "heck yes!". At 14yrs young, there's virtually nothing Aiden's not willing to map using Soar's Drone Mosaicing Toolset.

Advanced processing techniques as described by our guest, Jose Manuel Lattus, explore and exploit the both ultra-violet and infra-red energy for the identification of minerals and highly variable environmental conditions.
Paul Dewar has been flying UAVs since the late 90s when he first strapped a camera under a remotely controlled helicopter. Since then Paul has founded Drone Pilots, a UAV-focused consultancy and is also the chief pilot for Aquilla Aero, an Australian-based manufacturer of large fixed-wing composite UAVs. Paul's insight on what it takes to get a newly designed UAV off the ground shows us just how involved the process is.
Nathan Lu of Long Beach, California has the distinction of being Soar's most prolific image uploader. And while he's young compared to the average mid-40's dronnie, Nathan has flown everthing with four props that he can get his hands on. Starting with El Cheapo 'toy bin' level drones to smart GPS drones and on to FPVs, there's nothing Nathan isn't willing to have a go with.
Two of Australia's premeire agricultural drone service providers, Stratus Imaging & Stevtech have partnered to `advanced crop management using Taranis Ag's AI-powered high resolution crop management system. While traditional multispectral images have served the industry well, Taranis ag has implemented a game changing system to increase ground resolution to 0.03m to facilitate insect identification, plant disease, and initial emergence of new crop growth. All while rapidly increasing the acquisition time.
