  • HR 5: Out With Christianity, in with Marxism?

    Play Episode

This week, the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to take up HR-5, a bill disguised as an extension of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. But many feel this bill will actually take away the first and most important right afforded us in the Constitution:  the freedom of speech and religious practice and conscience.

Mike and David look at this bill from several perspectives:

    • What is the real intent of this bill?
    • Should Christians actively fight this legislation or just sit back and trust God for the outcome?
    • If this bill becomes law, and Biblical Christianity in America is in essence proclaimed “illegal”, how should bible-believing Christians respond?  And how will American Christianity, already compromising with secular culture for the sake of money and popularity, respond?
    • If this bill is enacted could it be God’s way of beginning to separate the wheat from the chaff?  The true believer from the fake ones?
    • But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.12 These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; 13 raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. Jude 1:10-13

“For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:27-31

A Dangerous Attack on Religious Freedom – here are the details from Liberty Council

This bill amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by striking the word “sex,” and inserting “sex, sexual orientation, gender identity” as protected classes throughout the federal code. This amendment applies to employment, housing, rental, public accommodation and more.

The suicidal Equality Act of 2019

Star Parker: I once complained that our society was denying morality – right and wrong. Now we’re beyond this. We’re denying reality in its entirety.

“Indeed, the deniers of reality on Capitol Hill are driving the so-called Equality Act – a perverse piece of legislation that will destroy us.

A bizarre list of behaviors will become legally protected and enshrined in a new America that will be the total antithesis of the ideals of liberty envisioned by its founders. I will have to start to worry that my little granddaughter will encounter a man in the restroom who has a right to be there because he thinks he is a woman.”

    • Exposing the Fallacy of Progressive Christianity

      Play Episode

A deadly fall down a mountain usually begins with a single careless step.  And once we take that wrong step, the fall can be swift and lead to serious injury or death.  It is no different with our eternal souls – and the souls of others.  A single serious misstep of twisting God’s Word to appeal to our flesh can often lead to deception or even a fall.

Deceived or deceivers? Today, Mike and David continue to look at the tenets of so-called Progressive Christianity, and how it often disputes and even contradicts the foundational teachings of the Bible.  The unbiblical, progressive process of “de-conversion” starts off with questioning a single doctrine from God’s Word, but eventually leads to serious heresy. This leads often many souls to full-blown apostasy.

In our first segment we are joined by Tim Hull of Ratio Christi Ministries to discuss his ministry to youth in college as well as tools we can use to bring people into saving faith in Jesus.

We also discuss an article pointing common beliefs that progressive Christians often share with Atheists, proving the dangerous, slippery slope of liberalism calling itself “Christian.”

3 Beliefs Some Progressive Christians and Atheists Share

      1. They May Adopt a Belief That the Bible Is Unreliable

      2. They May Have an Unresolved Answer to the Problem of Evil

      3. They May Affirm a Culture-Adapting Morality

          Pastor Carl Gallups

We’re joined by Pastor Carl Gallups today as we try to look at today’s news from a biblical perspective, and try to see how all that is happening around us fits into God’s plan for the world. His latest book is Gods of Ground Zero.

“Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”; “and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.  As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”  Romans 11:25-29

The Apostle Paul warns believers not to dismiss God’s eternal promises to Israel because many will be saved in the final days.  But an increasing number of professing Christians are turning away from Israel and supporting her enemies.

Pastor and best-selling Author Carl Gallups joins Mike and David this morning to talk about his new book that in just a few short weeks is already a best-seller.  It looks at how biblical Christianity is starting to spread in Israel as well as the controversy surrounding recently deceased Rabbi Zev Porat due to a controversial message he left to be opened upon his death.

THE RABBI, & THE SECRET MESSAGE, AND THE IDENTITY OF MESSIAH BY CARL GALLUPS

In 2005, Israeli’s most venerated orthodox rabbi, Yitzhak Kaduri, claimed he had met the true Messiah in a vision. He wrote that name in an encoded message and instructed his ministry officials to open it and post it on his website one year after his death. Kaduri died in January 2006 at the age of 108. Over 300,000 people attended his funeral in Jerusalem. The President of Israel gave the eulogy.

Carl Gallups says: In 2013 I had the distinct privilege of publishing the world’s first and only book about this story. That book, The Rabbi Who Found Messiah became an international bestseller and was eventually published in five different languages, and was also the subject of a documentary movie. The book and the movie were subsequently featured in major media sources around the globe.

Little did I know that the first book was only the tiny beginning of this continually unfolding story. What has happened since then – as reported in this brand new book – is simply unbelievable.

Young evangelicals souring on Israel because of ‘social justice,’ media deception

“Washington – A leading Anglican theologian is arguing that the reason younger evangelicals are distancing themselves from supporting Israel, including the theological underpinnings for doing so, is in part because of mass media derision of their “immoral” parents.

…millennial evangelicals are increasingly distancing themselves from modern Israel, the Anglican theologian said, in part because they want to distance themselves from their parents, who tend to support Israel enthusiastically, he said in response to a question from The Christian Post about why recent polling data indicates waning support for the Jewish state among younger Christians.”

“…millennial evangelicals are increasingly distancing themselves from modern Israel, the Anglican theologian said, in part because they want to distance themselves from their parents, who tend to support Israel enthusiastically, he said in response to a question from The Christian Post about why recent polling data indicates waning support for the Jewish state among younger Christians. CP asked if this trend is a reaction against what they see as uncritically blind, total support for Israel through figures such as San Antonio pastor John Hagee, an outspoken Christian Zionist and the founder of Christians United for Israel.”

Attacker Kills Woman 5 Months Pregnant, New York’s New Abortion Law Says Her Baby Isn’t a Human Being

Police said the woman had multiple stab wounds on her torso, neck and hands; she was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly afterward. They said she was about five months pregnant with her unborn baby, who also died as a result of the attack.

          The New York Post reports:

The killer targeted the 35-year-old woman’s stomach, according to the building super, who said she watched surveillance video footage that captured the murder.

“He’s got a knife! He’s going to kill the baby!” shouted five-months-pregnant Jennifer Irigoyen around 1 a.m. as her attacker pulled her from her third-floor Ridgewood walk-up and down the stairs to the building’s entranceway, horrified witness Maurice Roman Zereoue told The Post.

Mike and David read your questions and comments, but open with a commentary on the disgusting actions of the State of New York that will kill more babies and American Christianity’s collective cowardice in standing up for the lives of unborn children.

When “The State” thumbs its nose at God and proudly passes a law that will murder more children created in the image of God, and American Christianity Churches continue in their ringing silence and failure to stand up for those children, is the “church” becoming part of the problem rather than the solution?

          THIS WEEK’S QUESTIONS

One problem I see with American Christianity is “love” includes acceptance and accommodation, and so many believers don’t confront sin because “God is in control.” Hope you can address this.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is calling for mandatory education for four year-olds through early school programs. What is he up to?

Sadly, our church has been a host site for Willow Creek’s Global Leadership Summit for years and several families have approached them with concerns, but they are doubling down and sticking with this secular-progressive movement.

Our daughter wants to know if our pets will be in heaven. How do we explain this to her?

How much of today’s gender issue has to do with the fact boys are being raised to think there is something wrong with men?

What are some of the essential teachings of the Christian faith and what things might be secondary?

How do we respond to our atheist son who said he cannot believe in a God that would allow sinners as bad as a child molester to repent and go to heaven?

In your opinion, are denominations a good thing or a bad thing as a whole?

[bctt tweet=”How can people applaud the passing of a bill that expands the murder of innocent life yet also outlaw the death penalty for murderers?” username=””]

          Transcript of Mike’s Opening Commentary:

This week, the New York Senate passed a bill expanding the murder of innocent children, allowing abortion to be legal right up to the moment a baby is ready to be born. So just seconds before a child bursts forth from its mother’s womb the mother can decide to kill the baby instead of birthing it. And perhaps the most disgusting thing I have ever seen was a video of a standing ovation by proponents in the New York Senate after they passed this horrendous bill. There are three things I would like to share with you to bring this into perspective:

First in Florida if a person owns ocean front property, they can be fined and even imprisoned if their night lighting is too bright because it might affect a turtle egg. In other words if your night lights on your property at all disturb the hatching of a single turtle egg, causing it to not be born, you can be fined and imprisoned. But in the United States of America you can murder a child in the womb without any fear of law, and in many instances the government will actually pay for the murder of the child in your womb. We have reached such a state of depravity in our nation that a single turtle egg is held in higher regard than an innocent baby in its mother’s womb.

Second the New York Senate action raises this question: Under law if a child’s head comes out of its mother’s womb and you stick a pair of scissors in its head you are guilty of murder. But if you do the same thing just seconds and inches earlier while the child is still in the birth canal it is legal and applauded by Liberals. Can anyone explain to me how in any way, shape or form this makes sense?

Third, I read an interesting article from the Gospel Coalition the other day warning about letting “politics invade the pulpit”.   Of course the article did little to distinguish between purely political and spiritual issues. And therein lies the problem of American Christianity. We sit back silently as children are murdered by the millions in our nation and say nothing because we don’t want “politics” to divide the church. Immigration, taxes and size of government are political issues; the life of a child, marriage and gender are clearly spiritual issues that God has weighed in on in His Word. But in American Christianity’s zeal for church growth in nickels and noses she is willing to cower and not speak out against the murder of innocent children, the unbiblical redefining of marriage, and the scourge of “gender dysphoria” leading our children to spiritual confusion, depression and suicide.   And because American Christianity values growth and compromise more than truth churches are not questioning why self-professed born-again Christian continue to vote for political candidates who promote the murder of children in the womb and advance an ungodly agenda of sexuality and gender.

Several people I meet shake their heads when they see the growth of immorality in our nation and wonder how it can be happening.

How can people applaud the passing of a bill that expands the murder of innocent life yet also outlaw the death penalty for murderers?

How can people celebrate the things God hates?

How can a group of grade school Catholic School students be falsely accused and condemned by the entire media even though the evidence shows they did nothing wrong?

How can people send death threats to the students, parents and teachers of these children just because they showed up at The March for Life?

When people ask me these things I point them to Romans Chapter One where, because people reject the truth of God, He turns them over to a reprobate, evil mind to believe and do unthinkable things. See to people of a reprobate mind their own actions make perfect sense—because they are approaching literal insanity! They honestly believe what they do and stand for is righteous and moral.

          More is the pity.

Dr Duke Show hosts, Duke Pesta and Katie Petrick of Freedom Project join us today for some almost unbelievable education updates. You’re not going to believe what is actually happening on college campuses and in public school classrooms in America. Some in the LGBTQ community are now openly admitting their goal is to “groom young children.” Their agenda has moved on from diversity to inclusion. We discuss what they mean by “inclusion.”

We look at recent news stories showing how government-run education is repressing Christian thought and expression, while at the same time promoting progressive ideology, moral relativism, sexual experimentation and confusion, and abortion on demand.

We also explain the good news from Friday that a judge struck down the city of De Pere, Wisconsin’s extremely broad, non-discrimination ordinance. Judge William Atkinsion upheld our challenge and struck down the ordinance calling it unconstitutional, ruling in favor of Christian ministries and religious freedom.

So praise God! Our legal challenge to the City of De Pere’s “non-discrimination” ordinance was successful.

Effects of Wisconsin Court Ruling on “Non-discrimination” ordinance: December 14, 2018

The Court strongly reiterated that Wisconsin Law provides strong protections from a church or non-profit religious organization being considered a “place of public accommodation”.  This was a crucial ruling for several reasons:

          • If the DePere ordinance had been upheld, it could have forced churches and non-profit religious organizations to hire individuals whose practices directly oppose our deeply held religious beliefs.
          • Churches and religious organizations could have been subject to fines for any written communication that reiterated the Bible’s clear teachings on sexuality, gender or other clear biblical doctrines. As pointed out in the court hearing, this might have included sermon notes and messages shared on church websites and social media.
          • It could have required churches and non-profit religious organizations to allow their facilities to be used for groups that oppose the teachings, beliefs and lifestyles taught in the Bible.
          • It could have forced churches to provide every service to any citizen regardless of their belief system or lifestyle. It could have forced churches to perform homosexual, transgender or Atheist marriage services.
          • It could have forced this radio station to hire people living a lifestyle contrary to biblical teaching, and forced us to promote events on-air of organizations that stand directly opposed to the teachings of the Bible.
          • Perhaps we would have eventually been forced to broadcast other music than Christian music – promoting secular messages that are not only unbiblical, but the opposite of glorifying God and encouraging people’s faith.
          • One cannot discount the danger of allowing government in any fashion to break down the constitutional wall of protection churches have been granted against the intrusion of government. It is the most dangerous of slippery slopes toward government mandated religion.
          • The Pacific Justice Institute, who graciously represented the five Christian Churches and Q90 FM, felt this was perhaps the most blatant attack on religious freedom they had ever encountered.  The City’s proposed ordinance would have opened a dangerous door to government intrusion into the activities and teachings of churches and religious non-profit organizations. It clearly would have led to legal discrimination against Christians.

As our nation continues to be distracted by “breaking” news, media spin, alleged Russian collusion, politics, social issues, holidays, and the daily drama of the Stock Market, it’s easy to ignore events in Israel and the Middle East. That means many people are missing events that may be pointing to the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.  While it is currently in rebellion against God because of rejecting Jesus as Messiah, Israel is nonetheless very important to God, and His final plans for this world are centered on Israel.

BOSTON — The Massachusetts Democratic Party has approved a resolution acknowledging nonreligious Americans, also known as “nones,” and stating that those who have used their “religious views to justify public policy” are “threatening not only the United States, but the entire planet.” According to the American Humanist Association (AHA), the resolution was passed on Nov. 14 after being introduced by Resolutions Committee member Stephen Driscoll, who is also the co-chair of the LGBT Sub-Committee. The text of the measure was written by David Niose, director of AHA’s legal center, and Stuart Wamsley of Greater Boston Humanists. It states that the nones have tripled as a demographic the last two decades, and have also become “the largest religious group within the Democratic Party.”

              • You guys always have great discussions with people from Ratio Christi – what a solid ministry.
              • How do we best understand the topic of the eternal security of true believers?

              • Regarding witnessing and the true conversion of young people such as college students, I think their faith often depends on discipleship and on what church they end up attending.
              • Loved your spirited discussion about praying for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg after she fell. It is both right to pray for her to be saved or healed as well as to pray for God to remove her from her position of influence on SCOTUS.
              • Your show has helped me find a new passion for the Old Testament, thank you.
              • Serious Christians better understand that Liberalism is not only a cancer to our country but also to Christianity.
