You are a sinner. Yes, accept it. Everyone has sinned and has therefore fallen short of the glory of God. The penalty for sin is death and eternal separation from God. Of course, there are different penalties here on earth depending on the sin you commit. Society tells us that stealing is worse than lying and murdering is worse than stealing. No matter what you have done, all sins are equal in the eyes of God. All of them separate you from His glory. It is humans that give them ranks.

You want to hear God's voice. Therefore you need to be in a place where you can listen and hear God. That means mentally, spiritually, and physically. You need to be able to really listen. You can't have distractions, whether it is environmental or mental.

Yes, we may be sheep, but God wants us to be wolves. Yes, that's right, wolves. Not the kind of wolf that devours and destroys. You need to be the kind of wolf that tracks down lost souls and saves them.

If all of your friends were going to jump off of a cliff would you do it too? The answer, whether we like it or not, is most likely yes. Sheep will follow blindly and people are like sheep. We need a leader. A shepherd. We need a GOOD shepherd.

There is a story in the book of Mark chapter 12 versus 41-44 that is about a widow giving her tithe to the church. Although the main point of this story is about giving out of poverty, there is a secondary lesson that we will focus on in this message.

The wisest man, King Solomon, said that everything is meaningless. Of course, he is referring to everything here on Earth. Why would he say this? He said this because, as Christians, our kingdom is not of this world. We are to store up for ourselves treasure in heaven.

As a Christian, you are an enemy of the devil. You are living in enemy territory. Remember, our kingdom is not of this world. We belong to a heavenly kingdom. This earth is Satan’s domain and we are living behind enemy lines. Therefore, you will be attacked! Christians are always under attack!  

Satan not only wants to defeat you, but he also wants to destroy you. He will attack you because you are a Christian. The non-Christians are on his side and the lukewarm believers aren't on fire for Christ so they don't pose as great a threat as hot believers. Remember, if you're hot, you have Christ in you and are more powerful than the devil. Satan has already been defeated and you can defeat him again and again!
