We have some good inflation news - the annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for the 69 million Americans on Social Security will receive its biggest bump since 1983 – almost 40 years in the making.
The cost-of-living-adjustment was amped up because inflation for goods you and I need each day are coming with a higher price tag. No doubt you felt the pain at the gas pump or wondered why it seems soo expensive for your weekly run to the grocery store.
The average cost-of-living adjustment is right around 2%, so this super increase is making a splash in 2022. On the other side of this increase is the looming uncertainty of a potential Social Security cut in 2035.
