In this episode, we interview teachers and students about their experiences of being a POC at Newton South while providing a focus on the topic of safe spaces and how both teachers and students feel about the difficult conversations that we have been having in our classrooms about police brutality, systemic racism, the rising amount of Anti-Asian American hate crimes and other various issues that impact a variety of ethnic and cultural affinity groups here at South. You will also hear in this episode about the school's response system when these events occur and whether the school administration and organizations such as SHRC make sure to acknowledge that certain events impact certain groups at NSHS on higher and more personal levels and whether subsequently, the school provides support to the groups that are personally impacted by the recent events that have been going in this tumultuous year.
