What if the thing you keep dismissing as “nothing” is actually your superpower?
So many capable women struggle to recognise their own value, not because they have nothing to offer, but because their strengths have become so natural to them that they no longer see them as skills.
You can’t read the label from inside the jar.
In this episode, I share the unexpected birthday conversation that helped me recognise a gift I had been using for years without even realising it: helping people untangle their thoughts, uncover what is beneath the surface and find clarity.
I also share the story of a support worker facing redundancy who believed she was losing her job, until she began to recognise that her experience and skills belonged to her and could create new possibilities beyond her job title.
If you have ever wondered, “What’s next for me?” but struggled to find an answer, this episode is for you.
In this episode, we explore:
Ask yourself:
Your answer may be hiding in plain sight.
The Clarity Starter Kit is a free seven-day guided workbook designed to help you identify the skills, strengths and experiences you may have been overlooking.
Over seven days, you will explore your hidden assets, what drains you, what lights you up, the next chapter you desire, the options available to you and one small step you can begin taking.

25 | Why Everyone Else Sees Your Potential Except You
Can I ask you something honest? As a social worker, when was the last time someone told you that you were brilliant at something, and you just brushed it off? "Oh, that's just me. That's nothing special."
If you know that feeling, this episode is for you. Because the thing you keep dismissing? From where everyone else is standing, it's anything but ordinary.
I share a story about my daughter, a pair of running blocks, and a gift from a family who barely knew her. The blocks only worked because the ability was already there. And that moment taught me something I call the CEO in the Jar: you can't read the label from inside your own jar.
Whether you're a social worker, a nurse, a therapist or anyone whose work is helping other people, I want you to finish this episode seeing the skills you call "ordinary" for what they really are. Your greatest assets. And maybe, the start of income beyond one salary.
Around here, we dey change our story. 👑
I get asked one question all the time: "Ade, how can I build income from what I already know?" That's exactly why I built the Beyond One Income Circle, my free community for social workers and caring professionals who want to start earning from the experience they already have. Founding members are joining now. It's my gift to you. 🙌

Episode Title: I Thought My First £1,600 Online Business Paycheck Was a Fluke. I Was Wrong.
Episode Description:
A podcast for social workers and women in the caring professions feeling burnout and looking for clarity. In this episode, we explore how to start a side business or additional income stream alongside your career.
What if your career isn't your only path to impact and income? What if it's the stable foundation upon which you can build something more?
For years, my career as a social worker provided a steady, important path. And like many of us in the caring professions, I assumed it was my only one. But a deep desire for more options, for more financial breathing room, never went away.
Then, a single payment of £1,600 landed in my account from a side business I was quietly building. That single paycheck, almost equal to my entire monthly salary, changed everything.
It wasn't a signal to quit my job. It was proof. Proof that my skills could create an additional income stream. It was the moment I stopped thinking like an employee and started thinking like the CEO of my own life—a life with multiple possibilities.
In this episode, I'm sharing the personal story of that breakthrough. This isn't a story about leaving your job; it's a story about expanding your world.
Listen to this episode to discover:
This episode is for any woman in a caring profession who is ready to explore what's possible when you decide your current path is a fantastic foundation, not a final destination.
Ready to explore your options?
If this story resonates and you're curious about what an additional income stream could look like alongside your career, my 1:1 Clarity Sessions are designed for that exact first step.
This isn't about risky leaps. It's about building new possibilities on the strong foundation you already have.

EP23: Feeling Stuck as a Social Worker Mum? You Already Have More Than You Think
📅 17 June 2026
Can I ask you something honestly?
If the one thing you are relying on right now changed tomorrow — your job, your contract, your income — what would you do?
Most of us have never stopped to answer that question.
Not because we are not capable.
But because nobody has ever shown us that the skills we already have could create something else entirely.
In this episode, I share two stories — including my own — that I believe every helping professional woman needs to hear.
One is about a woman who moved countries for love, ended up in survival jobs, and quietly built something that changed her entire family's future.
The other is about the moment I stepped out of what felt safe and discovered that leaders of large organisations were coming to me for answers. And what that revealed about the value I had been giving away without even realising it.
Because here is what I know to be true:
You are not stuck because you lack options.
You are stuck because you cannot yet see the ones you already have.
In This Episode We Discuss:
• Why waiting until you feel ready is keeping you stuck — and what to do instead
• The real cost of having everything resting on one income source
• The story of a woman who moved countries, took survival jobs, and built income from home before her husband even noticed what she was doing
• Why you don't need another qualification to create another option
• What I discovered when leaders started coming to me for answers — and why it changed the way I saw my own value forever
• Why confidence comes by doing, not waiting — and what that means for you right now
• The difference between being stuck and simply not yet being able to see what you are carrying
Reflection Question

I would love to hear from you.

Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything was planned out perfectly, only to have life happen?
This week, I was supposed to record a completely different podcast episode. I had the title, the outline and every intention of getting it done. But caring responsibilities and unexpected demands meant my attention needed to go elsewhere.
As I reflected on that this week, I realised something important:
Delayed does not automatically mean behind.
Many of us are carrying responsibilities that nobody else sees.
Children.
Parents.
Work.
Family.
Unexpected challenges.
And yet when life interrupts our plans, we often tell ourselves we're failing, falling behind or not doing enough.
In this episode, I'm sharing what this week taught me about grace, priorities, purpose and why progress is not perfection.
• What to do when life doesn't go according to plan
• Why feeling delayed doesn't mean you're behind
• Caring responsibilities, family life and shifting priorities
• The pressure many women put on themselves unnecessarily
• Progress versus perfection
• The stories we tell ourselves when things don't happen on our timeline
• How to keep moving forward when life throws you a curveball
Where in your life are you being hard on yourself because things haven't gone according to plan?
And what would happen if you gave yourself a little more grace?
If this episode resonated with you and you're navigating a season you didn't plan for...
If life has thrown you a curveball...
If you're standing at a crossroads and trying to work out what comes next...
I'd love to hear from you.
Send me a WhatsApp message and tell me:
"What feels unclear right now?"
Or
"What challenge are you currently trying to navigate?"
I read every message personally and if I can help you gain a little more clarity around your next chapter, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.

You think you need a business degree. A tech degree. Some special skill you don't have. I'm telling you in love, you're wrong.
See, there are five things you do every single day as a social worker that you stopped counting a long time ago. You do them so often they feel ordinary. But outside your job, people would pay for them. In this episode I name all five, and I'd bet at least one will make you stop and say, "Hold on. I do that." Whether you're a social worker, a nurse, a therapist or any helping professional running on burnout, you're not short on ability. You might just be sleeping on it.

EP19: Is It Wrong to Want More Money? Faith, Ambition, and the Truth — A Social Worker Mum's Story
📅 20 May 2026
You've never said it out loud. But you've thought it. "Is it wrong for me to want more? Am I being greedy? Is this ungodly?"
And somewhere along the way — maybe in church, maybe from people around you — you buried that dream. You told yourself wanting more was selfish. So you settled. You stayed small. You called it faith. But what if you were wrong about what God actually wants for you?
In this episode, we go to the Bible itself — not the sermon, not the secondhand interpretation — the actual text. And what it says about you, your ambition, and your money might surprise you.
In this episode:
- Why the guilt you're carrying about wanting wealth is not from God — it's from people, and it's time to put it down
- What Genesis 8:18 really says about God and your ability to produce wealth (hint: He doesn't just allow it)
- The truth behind Matthew 19:24 — the camel and the needle — and why it's been widely misread for years
- The medical mission crusade story that changed everything about how Ade sees prosperity and kingdom work
- Why building financial freedom and building God's kingdom are not in opposition — they were always meant to go together

EP18: The Lie Keeping You Stuck — How Social Worker Mums Build Flexible Income in Pockets of Time
You keep saying you don't have time. As a social worker mum with a full job, kids, and burnout creeping in, that's real. But what if building flexible income doesn't need hours? What if 20 minutes is enough?
Last week I was sitting in a hospital with my dad. I'm working on my laptop — answering emails, scheduling content — just showing up in the time I had. A nurse walks past. Stops. Looks at me and asks: "Do you work from home?" The moment I tell her about my online business, her whole face changes. "That's brilliant. Can I do that too?" And I realised — she'd been looking for this exact thing. A way to build income without leaving her job. Without adding more pressure.
That's you. You're already doing the work. You're already tired. But what if you didn't have to quit social work to create financial freedom?

EP17: Why Two Incomes Isn't Enough For Social Worker Families — And What to Do About It
You and your partner are both working. Both giving everything to your jobs, your family, your profession. Two incomes coming in. And you're still not free.
The bills are still tight. The savings aren't growing. You barely see each other. And the worst part? You're both exhausted — and nothing is actually changing. Nobody around you is saying it out loud, because saying it feels like failing. But for so many families in caring professions — two incomes still isn't enough. And that is not your fault.
In this episode, Ade shares the real story of a couple who were drowning in debt, barely seeing each other, and working themselves into the ground — until one decision changed everything. She retired at 43. This is that story.

This is the show for experienced social workers who are burnt out, can't afford to leave, and are ready to earn more without leaving the job they trained for.
I'm Ade Larigo. Social work has been my world for over twenty years, and it still is. I'm a registered, practising social worker and a national adoption panel adviser. I've worked on the frontline of safeguarding, worked with three quarters of England's regional adoption agencies, led the UK's only research into panel diversity, and advised the House of Lords on panel diversity.
But here's what my CV won't tell you. I've been through bullying. I've been through redundancy. And I've been through burnout, not once, but twice. I kept changing jobs, hoping the next one would fix it. It never did, because I was trying to fix a one salary problem with another one salary job. It left me not knowing who I was or what I was worth. Then I realised my experience was never just part of the job. It was my most valuable asset.
Now I help social workers and caring professionals see the value they already carry and turn it into income, alongside the work they do. No retraining. No quitting. No starting from scratch.
Every Tuesday you'll get real stories from my own social work journey, honest teaching, and one small action you can take straight away. We talk about social worker burnout, what else you can do with a social work degree, how to earn more without leaving social work, independent social work, and how to build a second income from the experience you already have.
Whether you're a social worker, a nurse, a therapist or anyone whose work is helping other people, you're in the right place.
