Gender is a big part of our social life as it affects every aspect of our lives.  Society creates roles and duties separately for men and women where the status and roles of women are permanently assigned lower than the men. This is the social construction viewpoint.

However, not all agree with this viewpoint as others say that the different roles of the sexes, i.e. sexual division of labour, are mechanically caused by their genetic composition. This implies that the genes of both the sexes direct them to behave in specific ways, for men, to hunt and protect; for women, to reproduce and nurture the growth of children, be passive. Stay tuned and listen to grasp the argument fully.
