Eric Bachmann started his music career playing with the indie rock quartet Archers of Loaf in the early nineties and continued on with his solo project, then band Crooked Fingers. Archers of Loaf have recently reunited to tour many throughout 2011 while Crooked Fingers will release a new album in the fall of this year.

Xan McCurdy of Cake discusses the process of recording the band’s most recent album Showroom of Compassion which was released in January 2011 and debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. We discuss the process of writing and recording the record as well as his thoughts on the state of the recording industry.

Today we are joined by Sean O’Hagan of The High Llamas. The band has released a number of highly acclaimed albums since the 1990′s, showing influences as diverse as The Beach Boys, Ennio Morricone, Antonio Carlos Jobim and avant-garde electronica. He has also collaborated extensively with Stereolab, and provided string arrangements for Sondre Lerche, Super Furry Animals, and others. The High Llamas new release Talahomi Way is available April 19th on Drag City Records.

Holland Zander and Mark Muraski from The Snaggs join us to talk about their reunion show this Saturday, April 2nd at Kryptonite Bar. The conversation touches on having their song Lost at 22 featured in an episode of Dawson’s Creek, Holland’s fans, Classic MTV shows from the 90′s, and something having to do with Holland’s last name. Holland and Mark also play a Snaggs tune live at the end of the episode called Inward Vue.
